Aftermarket Brakes/Rotors
Hey, going to have to replace the brakes pads and maybe rotors. With that said, what are the favorite brakes and rotors to that you guys recommend?

Personally I have always used Brembo or Mercedes OEM brake parts. The brake system on our cars was designed by Brembo and for a hassle-free installation that has no noise, the OEM pad and rotor are ideal. However I wouldn't dare buy the parts from the dealer! I would get them from FCP or one of the many OEM Mercedes parts seller like MB Online Parts or German Auto Parts Source.

I am running rotors and ceramic pads on all four corners from www.brakeperformance.com
Very little dust and I have over 10,000 miles since I installed them without issue. They rotors still feel smooth to my touch, so I know I will get a lot more life out of these than factory.

I went with Disk Italia Pads and hardware instead of OEM pads and so far extremely happy with them.

Yes, FCPEURO is a great option, IF, they have the parts you need in stock. They didn’t when I needed my brakes, and still don’t......
It is good to have alternatives

As often as people post on here about recurring brake pulsation and frequent rotor replacements, I'd consider the FCP option and hope they'd keep sending you new ones ;-)

They will.... As long as you have proof you purchased the original set from them. They even take back Used Oil, Used Brake Fluid. As long as you purchased from them. Great Marketing on there part! It must work as this has been there policy for years.

Came with all necessary hardware. Same feel as OEM, way less dust, at least 85% Less. I do not track the car, however I feel no difference when driving a little spirited.. Extremely happy with them. I did the Rotors at the same time from FCP. I also replaced the Caliper Bolts as recommended and the 2 Brake sensors... If I ever replace the pads in the future, FCP W I L L send me New Rotors at NO COST as long as I purchase the same ones... No Questions Asked....

I used Cryo-Treated rotors from Porterfield, back when I was racing an Acura Integra.
The Integra was basically an overweight Honda Civic with a twin-cam motor and undersized brakes.
I would warp a set of rotors in 2 or 3 30minute sessions prior to going to the Cryo rotors.
After swapping to the Cryos, I got a season out of them, so they definitely behave as promised.
The W212 does not have undersized brakes (especially for US speeds), and so I don't think that they would be necessary.
We've got 96k miles on our E350, and I replaced the rotors with the pads at around 80k miles, only as a preventive measure - not because they were warped or cracked.
I went back with factory rotors/pads because I liked the strong initial bite, and the price wasn't crazy from the dealers parts department.
That being said, other than cost there's no downside to cryo rotors - and you're not driving a Benz because you wanted the cheapest car available.
If having a better widget installed provides you a bit more confidence/reassurance, they I say go for it (but it's not really necessary).

random but related brake pad question… why does the caliper cover no longer say Mercedes-Benz? I thought I got shafted but my rotors and pads are genuine MB, and I’ve seen quite a few W222s on the road missing that caliper cover as well… seems a little junky to me to have a bland/bare cover of lower quality than the ones I had up front on my W221… thoughts?

Caliper cover? My car says "Mercedes-Benz" on the front calipers and there are no 'covers' that I'm aware of ... but then it has the "AMG Sport" styling package. Maybe cars without this package have different front calipers with covers?

ive seen items on FCP Euro, but didn’t know they replaced wiper blades are their life is up.. how can they make any profit that way?

Thanks for the suggestion on the wiper blades - I’ll buy a pair when I need them next and then try the replacement avenue thereafter. Pretty good deal, probably inspires ongoing loyalty so a good choice on their part. As far as the covers, good to know sport package has them, maybe I can order a pair of covers if they’d work on the non sport version I have. I gotta say, I had a sport plus one package on my W221 but I love the ride without it on my W222. I miss some of the styling of the sport package but I’m enjoying the smoother, quieter ride on stronger sidewalls. My W221 was far from noisy, but this change helped me see what was possible - I’m still figuring out if it was worth it to get a quieter ride without the sport package or not - because I do miss some of the rim choices and styling pieces.
