Intermittent seat massager Issue. Works about a half hour.
I have a fairly recent problem with the Seat Massager in my S560 that started about a month ago or so. I turn on either the drivers or passenger seat massager and it works for about first cycle or two and then after around a half hour will not come back on. It just flashes a split second on the screen where the dot is for the type of massage and will not stay highlighted. I can pull over and turn the car off and open the door and then it will work again for another 1/2 hour or so. I know the dealer will say cannot duplicate with this kind of intermittent problem and I'll never get it fixed so trying to see if anyone else has had a similar problem and what the problem ended up being. I would suspect that the seat massager module just needs a software reflash or something like that. Last time I brought the car to the dealer they said they could not even look at it as they did not have the time. Sometimes I think these things called warrantees are fairly useless and I should just get a good independent shop to service my cars and not bother with extended warranties anymore.

It never use to do this in any of the mercedes I have had. You could turn it back on as much as you wanted on a long trip. Whenever it timed out, you could hit on the same type of message or a different one, something is not normal that it only works for a half hour or so. That would be more dangerous if people had to pull over into the breakdown and turn their cars off and open the door a second to get another 1/2 of a back message, lol.

I have experience with four sedans with the feature, two currently . In all the vehicles, when the massage reaches its end, pushing the massage button restarts the massage.
This rinse repeat cycle has no end as long as the car is running.
It does not require additional driver intervention such as a car restart.

Thats how mine use to be but not anymore, I guess it's either the pump or a software or sensor related issue. I have the feeling I'll be told it is normal, thats how it generally goes. The car is at the dealer now, I picked up the loaner late today.

Well the car is under warranty and I’d be paying for the gas there’s a half tank in the car now. There’s Gotta be a way to diagnose these things. Maybe the pump is pulling too much current I dunno. I paid big bucks for this car and big bucks for the Warrantee I want it to function as designed to function by Mercedes. I’m really tired of excuses and going to get a lot more aggressive on getting things covered under Warrantee that should be covered.

Just noticed this post being brought back up again and I didn't say what the solution was. I had the car at the dealer in RI must have been about a year and half ago or so and they find there to be a leaking plastic line in the drivers seat for one of the seat bladders. They had to custom make a new line as the one from mb germany was on backorder ever since my seat massagers have worked fine. When there is any type of leak in any of the lines or pump it trips a error code I believe in the BCM and then stops working properly, this is what happened. Good thing I got it in when I did as the factory warranty was just about to run out at the time and it's pretty doubtful a repair like this would have been covered under the extended warranty.
