Anyone used orginalwheels.com

Hi All,

Was considering changing the wheels on my W222. I've had it for awhile and just want to freshen up the appearance.

Is anyone familiar with originalwheels.com ? They have a lot a variety but I'm curious if what they have are true Mercedes wheels or some other replica/"OEM" wheels? I'm not a fan of aftermarket wheels as I think the aesthetics typically are not consistent with the car and usually the quality is not up to the standard of real factory Mercedes wheels.

Thanks in advance

Those prices look pretty darn high for used 20" wheels. I've purchased 20" AMG knock-off wheels from Evil-bay before when I had my S600. The quality was every bit as good as OEM and they were beautiful and durable. You can likely pick up a set of new staggered 20" wheels that are a close match to the OEM's for the price that you'd pay for just 1 OEM used wheel.

Very true that HRE can be out of some people's price range....yours too apparently OP has quite a car collection and may not mind spending for HRE quality and prices.
But yeah, my last set with rubber was a little under 10 K......but it was for an S class.....Maybe a 10K set of wheels would be silly for an Elantra or a POS Kia, but for an S class
what difference does it make? If someone can spend on an S class, what is the big deal for an extra 10 K?

I had a set of HRE 647Rs on a BMW X5 10+ years ago. $8k back then, but I was really astonished by their poor quality. After a few years with finish was flaking off. I thought I paid all that money for quality; in fact, I had paid for a name and a style.

Hmmm, sorry to hear that. Were those three piece wheels? ALL of my HRE's have been flawless and excellent. All monoblock. I have never been disappointed in the quality or finish. I have had 6 different sets on 6 different cars I currently rotate between two sets on my CLS: P41, which I have had recolored MANY times and P40SC which I recently had done in Penny bronze.
I still have the 303M's from my S class as well as the P47SC's from my Pcars too.
I know everyone has a different experience.

Yes, 3-piece. Back then nobody wanted a monoblock wheel — how times have changed!

As for the eBay aftermarket Benz ripoffs… I would normally say hell no. But let’s be honest, the factory ones bend like paper clips so they’re not high quality. If I had to replace mine, I’d likely buy the eBay ones myself - only thing I HATE is that the AMG logo is a sticker instead of the engraving… makes it an obvious knock-off.

I've heard good things about Alloy Wheels Direct in the UK that offers OE wheels and tires and reasonably priced shipping to the US. I think one or two forum members here have said they used them.

Thank you all for the insights.

I actually found an authentic used set through a vendor on eBay for a reasonable price. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Where to get Tire Pressure monitors? MB dealer?

Thanks again!

There's no need to over pay for them at the dealer. You can either pull the ones off your current 19" wheels or get these:
