Just Delivered
Clearly built for show and coded as such. Hope this helps.
My sales guy is still working with the parts department. I'll call the sales manager, parts manager, or GM today to get things moving if I don't hear anything. I'll let them do the legwork before I go to my local dealer.
I contacted the GM at Mercedes of Arlington to talk about the rear seats. He was hesitant at first that they were incorrect. He agreed to order a replacement seat cover based on the VIN and it came in with the diamond pattern, confirming what should be on the car. That got things rolling. It took some time as he worked with Mercedes to figure it out and together, they agreed to replace them. Best he could tell was it was a build error.
Then it took some time to receive the other seat covers from Germany. Once it was all in and double checked we set a time and they sent a driver to pick up the car. They had SureFit in Arlington (a couple of miles from the dealership) do the “repair.” It took a few days, then they delivered the car back to me. I didn’t want the car driven in rush hour traffic and they made it happen and drove it back and forth mid-day. They also replaced a roof trim piece. It all looks fantastic.
Overall, a huge shout-out and props to Mercedes of Arlington. Everyone was fantastic to work with – the GM, Service Manager, and the driver was a nice and professional guy.
I also added the MB led logo puddle lights. Not inexpensive but super easy to install. My wife wanted these – she liked them on our last car.
And I added Xpel tinting all around – XR Black 55 on the side windows and the rear, and XR Plus 70 on the windshield. I didn’t want a dark look, and this looks really good. Can hardly tell it’s there.
It’s up to just over 700 miles. Some pics of the new rear seats matching the front, and one with my other black car.
Edit: Another detail - I checked with my local MB dealer about the seats and he ran a CarFax and it's never been titled - I'm the first owner.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Saturday, August 12 was the last Saturday of Sturgis so we decided on a drive to Spearfish and Deadwood to check things out. It started out beautiful and got into the low 80s. When heading south a storm popped up and we started and stopped a few times to miss the crazy stuff. Hail is an issue in the Black Hills. We got peppered with light hail three times and thankfully missed the big stuff. The hail, rain, and wind around us was insane. It dropped to 51 at one point. Lots of cold, wet bikers. Everyone was on the side of roads, in driveways, waiting for it to pass. In one picture a pair is walking their bike down a hail covered hill.

The S is perfect for cruising open roads and does pretty well in sport on long twisty roads. Told my wife I was torn between the scenery or getting to the next curve.
But yeah it is surprisingly enjoyable to drive on a curvy mountain road...I travel to southern WV a couple times a year and get off and take the backroads often part of the way.
We wanted to get up into Montana again but ran out of time.
Good trip east. Super nice for cruising… and she’ll move when needed.

About to go with MWMods light upgrade.
Love the chip based mods - easy to remove or reinstall as needed.
Still need to drive it at night to try the MWMods light update.
Renntech install was super easy. Done in 5 minutes. After a couple drives it just responds better. It pulls away from stops better and feels much more responsive, even in Comfort. I don't drive it hard at all and this feels really nice. Plus when needed big power comes with little effort.
