What did you wind up paying for the Renntech tune and the ILS plug? I've never seen the ILS in a plug...

It’s an incredibly moving place. Very strong Native American presence and a humbling visit. The movie was fantastic but it’s so much more. Take the time to visit if you can.

Check the Rentech website, they’re running a sale. Give them a call.

ILS plug/chip mod from MWMods is on their website also. Discounts if you add others mods. I only did the lights. Had a glitch during install and a few back and forths on WhatsApp got it sorted. Their module is on the bottom right in the top picture.

Just looked at the link thank you, and I had also just googled it myself and I was correctly remembering the images in the film, cannot believe the film was 46 years ago arghh !
I last visited the USA probably 16 years ago or so, never to that part of the country though.

Wow… 46 years ago! Geez, time flies. I just read through the website again and it’s such an incredible place. The movie makes it “Hollywood” but the sacred history is so moving.

I always think of the sister when star gazing using an app like Sky Guide.

Many Native American cultures have myths surrounding the tower's creation, including the Kiowa of the western Great Plains. According to the Kiowa, the great rock formed of a tree trunk which grew to lift seven sisters into the sky to save them from an attacking bear. The sisters then became the stars of the Pleiades.

Hope you get back for a visit soon!

Oh gosh, I remember my parents telling me about various star constellations as a child and one of them was " The seven sisters ", I never did know the "correct" name for them, I must watch the film again now we have discussed it, a very young Richard Dreyfuss in it haha, mind you I am 63 today so I was still a teenager when I first saw the film !
I also use the APP " Star Chart" which I guess is a similar APP.

Some pics of our trip west a few weeks ago. Looking beyond the trunk and fuel door issue it was another really good trip. I love a road trip with lots of miles. Beautiful country to see! The S is fantastic to drive. And it's a full car with my wife, mom, our dog, and me. Plenty of space, comfortable, good music, good times.

Seeing the hood star against the snowy landscape brought back memories from years ago. The threatening cold outside and the Mercedes providing us with warm safe comfort inside.

Another trip east. First two days we had stiff head winds, cold winds, made our rest stops rather unpleasant. I think the winds really affected our mpg. Third day was all rain as we followed a storm east. Mileage picked up and it was a decent trip across WV and MD, even with the mountains and rain. Traffic wasn't bad and no one did anything crazy so no accidents and we all moved along.

The S did great. Didn't miss a beat and perfectly composed in the wind and rain - and the wipers worked perfectly during the last day for 600 or so miles.

We really enjoyed this fragrance, we have it in the house also. The trip out and back only used a couple ml. Thanks to whoever posted it in another tread: https://www.diptyqueparis.com/en_us/...-diffuser.html

Some pictures of the drive. And a rest stop in Cedar County, Iowa. Remembering the Underground Railroad with quilt codes, secret messages, they mapped the path to follow.

Back west for the summer. So glad to get away from the Mid-Atlantic humidity.

Only dicy part was OH and into IN with the remnants of Beryl, very windy and occasional fast hitting drizzle or rain for a few minutes then gone. Wipers worked great and in the wind everything was stable and solid. And the trunk and fuel door worked as expected!

Didn't see many interesting cars on the trip, drove with a blacked out M550(?) for a while, hard to tell with logos blacked out. Then a black Caddy CT6(?). Then an Audi Q8 at a gas stop. Lots of pickup trucks and basic cars. Counted three Mercedes for the entire trip.

Incredible car for covering lots of miles. It turned 10,000 miles about 15 miles from where it turned 2,000 miles in Iowa about a year ago. I was focused on the 10,000 mile part and missed the trip at 1,111.1 at the same time as it hit 10,000.

Nice clean up (last picture) ... always kinda shocking how many dead bugs and other junk you get after a highway trip

It is amazing, and those grasshoppers make quite the smash on the bumper and whack on the windshield.

Also glad I had PPF put on the front bumper and headlights. Windshield is treated with C-Bond.

Before each trip I apply Gyeon Ceramic Detailer. Rain beads like crazy and it helps with cleanup. Looks like they changed the packaging.

I salute you for truly enjoying your car. It’s nice to see someone taking long roadtrips in a S Class.

That's my point as well , those cars meant to be driven long journeys not to be garage beauties
