Oil drain plug

While under there… I looked and I’ll admit I have no idea where the oil drain plus is. I’ve changed a lot of oil and just did my FF and my daily driver. Is it the small round plug in the black honeycomb piece? Interesting it has bump stops so no over tightening. Guess the oil filter is the big round cap, but thought it was on the side, horizontal? Guess I really need a shop manual.

They seem fine, but I love maintenance so I replace them.
Here is a video on how to change the oil on a 2018-2020 S class.

the largest pulley is crankshaft balancer
look at 8 O'Clock (20Hr00)
that's the solenoid connector
it cuts down oil pressure below 3500.Rpm

Couple screen grabs from the video. There’s a bracket right in front of that area.
I also found pictures online where the solenoid connects to the oil pump but no luck finding it either.

Here is a guaranteed way:
Search online partlist catalog for exact location drawing... the so called EPC!
then you can go in with confidence and gloves on.

After 30+ years of wrenching my own Mercedes I find that all my SAE tools now fit in a single drawer.
