S550 w/MBC for sale

I don’t know if this car has already been talked about here, but it looks very interesting. Since I have gone electric, I am no longer interested:

Good: Low miles, pretty, well optioned

No so good: old M278

Don’t go near this car without a Fidelity full-on warranty.

I'm very wary of black cars due to the upkeep, but that ruby color is quite elegant.
If this were Carmax, I'd scoop it up immediately for the warranty, even though we're looking at the S560.

Stream, why not pick it up for (relatively) cheap and have your favorite ever luxury sedan back?

That ruby color is amazing, I had a Lexus a very similar color. Its no easier to care for than black unfortunately.

If I recalled correctly, he prefers the facelift. Although I might had mixed it with someone else.

Another problem is storage, I know for a fact he is keeping that R231 SL 450 MiniMouse and the E 450 wagon he has in the garage. So poor S-Class will just be sitting outside. He told us that he only has a 3 door garage which I assume the 3rd garage space is currently occupied by the i7.

Personally I see no point in having a 7 Series and an S Class. They are so similar and serve the same purpose. i7 is a better car than that old S550.

As long as you don't have to look at it too often :-) Take it from an old E38 owner - what they have done with the looks of the 7 since then is criminal.

Well, OP clearly doesn't mind the look.

I think they look amazing. I have grown to like them more and more and quite frankly I kinda regret not getting one, although I love my S580.

This is what I would get:

It is the perfect car in my opinion except for that.

That colour is nice and elegant, the Swarovski crystal lights also help, I wish MB kept that, although the coupe was the only one that had it not the regular W222 sedan.

At least it sounds better (maybe?) higher displacement. Well, to be honest being an S-Class and non AMG, good sounding engine is a moot point, you would prefer no sound.

Yes That is why the Spectre is a good formula for ultra luxurious brands like Rolls-Royce.

I certainly understand wanting a new car (never been my interest, outside of EVs with the credits), but I do remember multiple MBC owners in the i7 comparison thread who said the i7 was nothing like it in terms of ride. The MBC demonstration videos are quite amazing. Stream's complaint about road noise being highly dependent on road surface is what I experienced in the previous gen 7, and my Lexus LS. MB does a better job equalizing road noise than anything I've driven. NVH is very challenging, and I trust MB over pretty much anyone. Speaking as a fan of modern BMWs too..

But yeah, it's very similar. I wonder what it'll go for.

I extensively drove the i7 and almost bought one, it rides as well and is as quiet as an S Class. The G70 7 Series is an order of magnitude better riding and quieter than the previous G12 7, which I also almost bought in 2020. Especially the i7 due to its weight and the barrier of batteries in the floor between the driver and ground.

I've never driven an S Class on MBC, but I am totally satisfied with the ride both my S Classes had/have and would be totally satisfied with the i7 too. I certainly wouldn't go back and drive a 10 year old car to get MBC over a new i7.

I second the opinion on a rock solid warranty. That uber low-mileage car is a nightmare just waiting to happen for the next owner. These cars are meant to be driven. That car is going to be a leaky nightmare with dried out gaskets and hoses and will have suspension and motor/trans mounts that will soon or are already failing due to dry rot.

Eww! This proves the old saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Interestingly, I've been reading that BMW will soon be ditching that hideous mug due to most people finding it repulsive. The body shape looks like it could have been penned by Chris Bangle as it closely mimics the equally hideous E65's hopped up on steroids.

Its interesting because out in the world the car gets a lot of love vs online. I know several people who have them now, the guy 2 doors down from me has one, I have 3 friends and coworkers who have them. Every single one of them say they get more compliments on their 7 than any car they have ever owned. When my neighbor got his everybody was over there looking at it and admiring it, nobody had any interest in my S580. Just today one of my agents got a new Mustang Mach E and we were walking out to see it, a white i7 was parked and he pointed it out and said totally unprompted how much he loved that car.

This generation 7 is also outselling the S Class for the first time ever, so more people like it than you think.

I mean, I saw several on the road and it really isn't that bad looking depending on the options. It is not the best looking car out there I get it, there are also some/little/a bit inspiration from Rolls-Royce I guess.

Yes, the upcoming i7 facelift will finally ditch that split headlight design. While a full reveal is yet to come, the spy shots released so far are quite exciting, and hopefully will be more appealing once it’s officially unveiled. The body shape of the car will remain unchanged, but the front-end facia will get a good transformation. BMW is good in taking its facelift/LCI changes seriously…
