Rear Axels Rubbers Greasy

If leak is slow you could get by with annual differential top off.
If your differential runs low you'll end up needing to replace it.
What are you talking about? He probably didn't use Genuine Mercedes Magical Differential Fluid that meets Mercedes spec UN1C0RN UR1N3 333.261, and it's obvious the magic built into the original fluid is wearing off!!!

But seriously, OP. VII is correct. Check differential fluid level and address it as necessary. On the bright side, those leaks are going to eventually stop when most of the oil runs out of the pumpkin. At that time, expect serious damage to start occurring. The trick is to repair or stay on top of the oil level. Keep in mind, the leaks can (and probably) will get larger.

You could regrease from time to time but that is an annoying job.

Labor to do the whole axle is no more, possibly less, than replacing a boot and repacking an old CV joint
