I ordered the S-580 with AMG package and AMG V multispoke 21 inch wheels. This wheel came with high performance tires, all season tires were not available when I ordered the car back in September.

Is that a fact? That you can’t get the 10 degree rear axle steering with anything other than 20” wheels?

In the USA Luxury (no rear steering) AMG (4.5 rear steering) Executive (10 rear steering) but can only have tires up to 20", I believe the 21" create some kind of clearance issue?

Thank God you live in Florida, those high performance tires are crap in snow or ice!

2022 s 580

I just received notice that my 2022 S 580 was built and will land in the US next week. So far it looks like I received all the standard equipment and my upgrades. I was concerned about the 3D Technology Package, but it looks like it is in the car. Now I have to wait until "the fall" release date.

If your car “will land in the US next week,” what’s the “wait until the ‘fall release’ date?”

Have your dealer run a new MSRP sheet, see if everything is there but not sure if this tells the whole story? I'm thinking when they release the car from the VPC another MSRP is printed with possibly some changes or deletions. Right now my 2021 shows my order is intact, hopefully next week we can get a release and see for sure if anything is deleted? One of our members just posted a article concerning chip shortages lasting till 2023?

MB says that the 2022s will have a release date of "this fall." So far there is not specific date. Hopefully, if the 2021s sell out quickly, they will release the 2022s in early fall. However, I have learned from my cancelled 2021 order, don't get excited until I see the car on the dealer's lot.

He did look in their system and he reported what is current as of today. Hopefully, MB won't do to their 2022 customers what they did with the 2021s. I guess I won't know for sure about the equipment until the car arrives at the dealership.

my dealer stated the same about waiting for the 2021's to sell before the 2022's are released. my car was built 1 week ago today. I am doing a test drive on a car they have at the dealer this afternoon. I will try to see if mine was put on a boat yet.

Did you get any pricing on the base and the options?

No, no prices yet. He said it could be "a couple of months" , but that was a guess.

HaHa! I was thinking SMALLER wheels. You can go 19” with the Executive Pkg., right?

if you google "2022 s-class price" this comes up.

It didn't make reference to the source, and someone on this bulletin board stated the S500 (about $1,550 more then the '21) was 200 less then this price. At least I have some idea, but not for the options yet.

If your dealer monitors your order they will know when released to shipping, I think that's when you can check the MSRP again, when it's leaving the VPC.
MERCEDESMAX thinks the present cars are not missing anything but who knows, hopefully he is correct?

I believe they offer 19" and 20" on the Executive Trim, IT doesn't even show 21" wheels on the site.

It arrived. Lacks the massage/bolster inflation.

2021 S580
Got word a couple days ago that mine is on the truck and should be here any day. My dealer already has 8 of them on the lot and I went to look at one similar to mine. All in all I’m very happy with it, this is my first S Class after having a couple 7 series bimmers and an E class many years ago. He confirmed mine is lacking the massage/bolster option. I ordered the AMG 580 with every option so kinda disappointed the only thing I’m missing is a standard option. My sales rep said the 3D HUD and active lighting are probably going to be more sought after options that are missing on some cars than the massage seats. We’ll see.

We picked up the car today from the dealership. What a dream this is! 2021 S580 4MATIC Executive version. The rear wheels can steer up to 10 degrees and man what a difference that makes in tight spaces. It will take a while to learn all the features, but everything is pretty intuitive and it hasn't been difficult to figure things out on the fly.

I stopped by my local shop today and finally got a first hand look at the new W223. The first thing that hit me about the changes after only seeing them in videos and photos was that the center screen appears far less imposing than I anticipated. Since it was the early criticism of this change that was loudest (and one I personally didn't like, based on what we knew back then), I was surprised at how much smaller it appeared overall in person. It just doesn't dominate the cabin the way I expected. Same goes for the driver's cluster - it is much smaller than I expected, and negatively for me. Given its positioning and that it seems to just float there, it kind of looks out of place, small and lonely. I didn't drive the car or even turn it on, just an in-person first look.

The dealer received 6 cars and is getting 6 more pretty soon. All are missing the multicontour seats and lighting upgrades. The salesman said they were told the fall releases would be the earliest any of those items would be available, as noted in earlier posts. I parked my 2018 next to a near identical W223 and found that the pouting nose doesn't look so bad in person, but I still don't like the tail light treatment. Just some cursory thoughts.

Yes, you can do 20” wheels or less and still get the 10 deg rear axle steering.

Did your dealer make any further price reductions in considering your somewhat disappointed?
