Weak Wireless Charging
Is it just mine or is the wireless charger in the compartment below the central display EXTREMELY weak/slow? FYI I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro. Not sure if it’s smartphone specific problem (do Android smartphones have better results) or car issue?

Now that there are more W223s operating, have others also experienced extremely slow/weak wireless smartphone charging?

I bet the wireless charger is only 5 watts which is the minimum. Fast wireless chargers charge at 10 or 15 watts. If you have an Android phone I'm sure there are apps that can tell you what wattage it's charging with.

Mercedes has stated that their goal as a company is to be the worldwide leader in the luxury car market. That means paying attention to small details. If you are going to equip your cars with wireless charging, impress your customers and go with the best. Saving a few dollars by going with a wireless charging station that is barely adequate diminishes the brand image that Mercedes is trying hard to project. Mercedes better get with it. Their competition, including new comers like Genesis, are hungry to take a piece of their market share.

There is a bulletin for it. Apparently, the dealer can update the firmware of the cradle:

One can wonder why this can't be fixed via an OTA ...

I had a feeling that no way the slow charge was normal!
True, they’ve been harping about OTA updates; you’d think it would be straightforward.
