How much off MSRP

May be looking to get into a 2021 or order a 2022; wondering if anyone has been able to successfully negotiate off msrp (Northeast Region)?

I used to only do European Delivery and got between 11-12% each time.

Im shooting for 8% off this time around; is this realistic?

Excuse me while I chuckle to myself. Have you been reading anything at all about the lack of inventory and the struggles most folks have had over the last year actually taking delivery of a vehicle?

Haha chuckle away, good for the heart.

My understanding was that the wait was because of the delayed release date, and not so much pent up demand? In any case a local NY dealer has quite a few in stock so not sure what the fuss is about.

Wanted to go in educated hence the post so if anyone is willing to share their experience, please do!

Many dealerships are marking the cars up $10,000 and up. Every new one at my local stealership is $10K over. That's not to say that in some areas where the showrooms have over 25 of them for sale that you couldn't get a discount but it is extremely unlikely you will get any discount at all.

Probably not. MBUSA just notified us that there will be no 2022 V8's produced except for the S Class. I would expect heavy demand for the S Class and somewhat limited production.
FYI, 2022 S Class won't be released until December at the earliest.

Not to drag this thread off topic but all V8’s besides S580 will be on pause for MY22? I know that the E63 and AMG GT4D 63 were going to be not available for 2022, but now its also everything from C63 (coupe) to GLE and GLS 580/63? Is there a reason for this? I’m assuming chip or emission/regulations related?

My dealer is charging 10k over but judging by the website they aren't selling fast. I paid sticker.

Why wouldn't the E63 and AMG GT63 V8s be available for 2022? The AMG GT V8 facelift models haven't been shown yet. They're all going hybrid, but that still is on combination with the V8.

It's confirmed now that all MY22 V8 models are cancelled (except the S-Class and Maybach).

I've heard rumors of the 63 models being replaced with 63e and 73e models which are plugin hybrids.

It's true. I think there is an emissions issue with the V8. Keep in mind Mercedes pays millions per year in fines for missing CAFE targets. Guess they can't afford it anymore. S class will continue since they just launched the car, but I'd be willing to bet allocations will be low.

I am receiving 8% discount from my ordered 2022 S580. So yes very realistic especially if you have a prior relationship as I do with my Sales Manager. I didn't have to negotiate and still haven’t tried to ask for more.

On an order probably so. Days of just walking in and getting major discounts are definitely over. I paid $104K for my 2019 with a sticker of $126K. I paid $138K for my 2017 S63AMG with a sticker of $164K. Due to this and the fact I just like the W222 better, I'm going to keep a grip on my current 2019. It only has 20K miles on it anyway.

I am also used to 18-20% discounts but it appears that I will not be sniffing 20% off on this car. I don’t see what the difference is regarding ordering and walking in off the street though? Would think they would want to sell the car in their showroom more than special ordering one for me?

Good point indeed. My guess is that if you are in a very affluent area like Atlanta, Daytona, Miami, anywhere in California, NY, etc, you will have better deals due to quantity, but in my area they are rare to see and they are stiffing people IMO. Like I said in my post about "UPCHARGE", they had a $195K G wagon marked up $100Kto $295K just because it is a rare vehicle in our area. Makes me wonder how they would handle a dealer-to-dealer trade?!

Both dealers here in Atlanta want $5000 over sticker. Lol. I am working with my old BMW manager out of state that prior sold me a 760 and 750. He was transferred to Mercedes. He is taking care of me.

They are cancelled due to parts/production issues. No indication as to what exactly is causing the issue. Pushback at least until the end of the year but possible that the MY22 is completely cancelled.
To add insult to injury, existing E63 orders have been switched to E450's, which means customers will all cancel them...
Understand that even the regular E-Class is loosing its digital cluster and going back to the ugly analog instrument clusters...Ughh

did MBUSA tell you? You stated about the 2021s in the below screen grabs. You seem to be on the inside, but is your December statement based in fact or your opinion/guess?

WOW, man this is terrible news. Mercedes sales are about to nosedive. I doubt the C63 Coupe/Cabrio models will come back after this, they as well cancel them now since they aren't being directly replaced. Just wow.

No way. That isn't it. They've been paying fines for years and they wouldn't drop all their V8 models like that. This is a supply/parts issue.

The dealership in Naples, Florida, is asking $20,000 over MSRP and then dropping it to $15,000 over when buyers complain. They are honoring MSRP on previously ordered cars where there was an agreement, the big markups are on S Class cars in stock. No discounts in this part of the country!

Apparently a ‘21 S580 (pretty base spec) sold for $25k over sticker at a Mannheim Auction with 40 miles on the dash. If you can get a discount I’d say run with it.
