Winter wheels and tires for new S class?

My 2022 S580 will be arriving to Michigan next month with the 21 inch wheels and I am trying to find some good winter wheels and tires for it. I always down size on my winters compared to summer wheels and prefer either Blizzaks or X-ice winter tires from tirerack.

I have not found any info on the Mercedes oem winter tire/wheel package for the new S class but the older W222 S class winter wheel set for still sale. Not sure if those are compatible with the new S. I dont like Pirellis and prefer to get the 20 inch Mercedes OEM rims separately and grab the Blizzaks or XICE and have them mounted and road force balanced.

Does anyone have any info on this or planning to put winters on their S class?

I have on order 255/45R19 Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tires, with Fastco Replika R207 Black with Machined Face wheels. I wanted Michelin X-Ice Snows but there was no availability in that size.

Those look nice!! I had those PA4 on my Audi A7 before and they are great. I love the X-ice snow as we have them on our A8 and X5. They are available in size 255/40R20. Just wondering what rims to get. Have you used these Fastco rims before? Are they durable and do not bend easily etc? I always try to stay away from replicas because of this.

No. I haven't tried them before but they are winter rated. My rims in the past were always through the MB dealer but my wife had good experience with her non MB 3rd party rims.

So I am in the same situation. My 2019 winter wheels did not fit. Mercedes and tire rack do not have a winter wheel/ tire solution yet. If anyone is near there Indiana Plant- tire rack will scan/ measure the car..

I have been looking around online for some OEM 20 x 8.5 inch and 20 x 9 inch Mercedes wheels which were from the prior gen W222 models and there are alot of good choices on ebay that will fit the 2021 and 2022 S classes. I will use these Xice tires from tirerack as they are the standard tire size for the non-amg 20 inch rims on the S500 and S580.

I was told directly from tire rack that they do not have a solution for a wheel /tire setup for the 2021 s580

They only have the tires in size 255/45R20 for the 20 inch rims and I spoke to my tirerack rep who I have been using for many years and he says the Michelin XICE snow is the best bet and I will be buying them and getting a set of new 20 inch AMG rims online to mount and road force balance.

So if you get the non-staggered rims for the 20 inch which comes with the all of the trims including AMG, executive and luxury, there will be no issues fitting the size 255/45R20 tires on them. Just have to be sure the rims are 20 inch by 8.5 or 9.0 inch thickness. The standard offset of the 20 inch non staggered in ET34. The 21 inch staggered rims is a different story and there arent any good winter tires for those.

I went with alloywheelsdirect.net, spoke with Tony - he pulled up MB docs on the 223 wheels . He was able to see exactly what wheels would fit from these docs and I went with an MB 19" wheel with mich pilot alpine pa4 tires.
These are coming from the UK - he was able to check inventory and tires. I originally picked another wheel, but it was not in stock until December when he got back to me.
I will report back when I receive the goods

My 19 inch Michelin winter tires and Fastco rims were installed and they look great. Only problem is the tire sensors are back ordered and have to be ordered from Germany. Also waiting for my MB center caps from China (ordered on Amazon).

The 19 inch tires were recommended instead of 20 inch tires as they perform better in the snow.

Looks very good! Im looking at the michelin x-ice snow winter tires. I had the PA4 before and they are very good a bit more performance oriented winter tires.

Looks good with the beefier tires - purposeful like the S680 Guard!

If you don't want to wait, I purchased aftermarket sensors from eBay seller eurowheelsusa for my GT53. They came already programmed and ready to install.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I already ordered and prepaid through my dealer part's dept. The rep said it would take 2 weeks to arrive from Germany as there is plenty of stock there. He also said that the sensors don't need programming. Evidently the sensors will pick up the connection with the car on their own.

Good evening gents...

I have a W222 2016 S550 4Matic with 245/45/19 Front and 275/40/19 Rear. Can i run 265/40/19 in the front to match height "40" in rear, or will that tire be too wide for the 8x5 front wheel and will it cause tranny or differential issues? Hate looking at the taller size tire up front!!!!!
