Official 2023 ordering thread.
Where I'm heading here is... Why in hell can you not configure a 23 S-Class on their site? I went to have a look at the upcoming AMG model and noted it wasn't there; that is when I also noted they haven't even updated the configurator for the vanilla S. A quarter of the production year has gone by but a prospective owner can't configure one? Feels like some fail going on with their shopping tools.

I should be going thru the Panama Canal on Tuesday!
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I still kick myself getting the 21’s. Now I’m reading the posts with issues with the EABC. If I did not lease them I would sell the 21’s and put 20’s on it when it arrives. The dealer is ordering me a full spare and tire as a backup. I had low profile aftermarket Vossen wheels with 21’s on my 17 S63. I cracked a rim and had 3 tires blow. I should have learned my lesson! I also forgot to order Buttronic..
Happy Holidays!

My car was having intermittent issues with the onboard connection not working and the hotspot was DOA; I brought the car in for it and had them check the headlight adjustment at the same time.
On the headlights being unbelievably bad they ran a system self check which allegedly checks the alignment and found no issues or faults. Evidently Mercedes headlights are supposed to be ridiculously bad.
The onboard connection popped up a note telling the tech to flash a software patch but the patch was for a version of software that was older than what was on my car which was built the 3rd decade Aug 23; this is what they're talking about in the section referencing the note. Their flowchart then directed them to check for a newer software version and install if one exists. Turns out a newer version was available and installed. That fixed the connection and it's working fine. As stated it also fixed the hotspot, I connected my laptop to it and confirmed it is working. The tech said he thought this was supposed to fix the issues with Apple carplay, he didn't elaborate as to why but checked it's functioning and said it worked. I can't verify that one as I don't do Apple.
The unexpected: On the ride home I discovered what is either a new function in the virtual reality display of the HUD or a function that was supposed to be there before but hadn't been working. It pops up red arrows on the side you're changing to if it thinks there is a car in the lane that is too close. I didn't have that in the HUD before, so either new or fixed. Also found working is the streetlight camera. This hasn't worked since the car was new but I didn't mention it because I find it annoying and would have turned it off anyway. Well, it's working now so I have to do a menu dive and figure out how to disable it again because I still find it annoying. It is however nice that it works just for the sake of working.
So... If you're one of the people who have been wanting to get the hotspot working; it appears a fix is available. Same for the traffic light camera. There may be a fix for Carplay troubles, not sure on that one. May also be a new function in the HUD or one I was missing is now working.
Luck in 23 gents!

Didn't want to post on 4 different threads (bad lighting, no hotspot, traffic light view, carplay, so I posted here; too lazy. Figured most would see it; it's not a very active forum.

I saw it several times; Seattle traffic on the freeway is a little tight for the systems taste and I'm not one of those old people that forgot how to use a turn signal.
Edit: I'll scope the SW version the next time in the car.

PS. My car should hit the Long Beach VPC on Thursday. I was looking at pics of my 2017 S63. I had a Renntech ECU as well. I am all for new tech and progressive design. However, I still like the dash better on this car…
That I know of my rear tablet was flashing at one point and it turned out it had downloaded an Android update and was asking for install permission. I also had a toast pop up in the usual location at the top of the console screen saying my maps had updated. If any other updates came in, it was without my noticing.
Looking vicariously at the update process, I don't think this car will ever get a full system update over the air. My car has two systems, front and rear, and each needs to be installed together or neither will work. That was 5 hours of install time between them. An unexpected interruption with either could be fatal, it's unusual, but the tech tells me it happens on occasion.
A note for other new exec owners: The car can't be flashed, front or rear, without the tablet in place. You'll want to have it in the car when you take it in so if they do decide to update the system software, they can.
