No, these are roughly twice the size of the pillows, maybe a little more than that.

Even though the (non matching) colour and the non perforation do not suggest so, but the size seems to suggest backrest pillows for the rear seats (or front seats)?

BTW, I wonder how is everyone setting up their AAL? I just left mine at 'stock'. I have not changed from its original setting since day 1.

Higher powers are in control of the AAL in my car. O_o The pads in the trunk are the same leather as on the door handles; it's not the fake stuff. They both have elastic straps that suggest they should be strapped onto something but I find nothing in the car that matches the straps. I thought maybe they are for the calf pad on the executive chair for those who want more padding but they don't fit well there either. Dealership said they didn't know what they were for but they came with the car so they included them.

Another mystery is how to switch out of mbux on the tablet? I fiddled with it for a while but wasn't able to get into Android.

For rear seat's lower leg support?
(Look for a MB part number too)

Wonder why they were not installed at the factory.
And, your dealer is a little 'sub professional' to give you that answer.
If they truly do not know, they should do some digging and then get back to you asap.

I hear you but this is a small dealership that sells few S-class cars and only a small chunk of those will be executives. The kids pulling the packing and transport stuff said it was the first exec they'd done. The dealership was good through the process and to be frank I think I was more likely to get an answer on here than they were from MB based on my buying experience up to this point. What I got out of MB was that they're a corporate monolith that says nothing to puny humans. As to not being installed it's possible that's the way they ship them; they slip on with the elastic bands so it isn't hard to imagine them being something that is supposed to be installed at the dealership. I don't know that but it seems plausible based on the way they had the cardboard and all that in the footwell back there. Maybe Cinci will chime in if he rolls by.

If they are a large dealership which handles lots of Exec trim S-class, surely they could give you an answer right away. In fact, if they were so, they would have installed them for you and not leaving them in the trunk.
Granted that they are a small dealership and yours might be the first Exec trim S-class they handle, but this is not the point. What I am driving at is not their not knowing the function of the pillows, but mainly at the fact of their answering ''Well, we do not know. They came with the car and so we pass them onto you''. This type of answer reflects an underlying attitude of low level service (vs professional level).

As a small dealership, I would forgive them of not knowing the answer right on your first phone call. But, the lack of desire to find out the answer for the customer, especially you are so new to them and the car is still 1 week fresh and also especially the pillows are just a piece of hardware (vs a deep level complicated MBUX software bug, their 'non enthusiastic' response is not acceptable to me.

It is good that you tolerate them and might even find an excuse for them. I surely hope you will have professional maintenance service for your car in the coming years.
(BTW, please do not get me wrong. I really do not want to be hard on them and, most certainly, not hard on you.)

PS maybe you can inform them of this forum so that whenever they need to find an answer for a customer, they can come here and ask...

I got it the first time and you'll have no argument t from me; I agree with you. Like everything else in this world, it was business. In a rarity for me a local dealership offered the best pricing for both the car and the trade. They've a good reputation on the sales side for no shenanigans and I used them for the buy. Their reputation on the service side is much worse and below the other two options I have in my area. Another business decision will be made when it comes time to go in for service.

It seemed to me more likely the dealership was supposed to mount the pads than the factory randomly throwing them in the trunk on this one car and no one noticing in the QC process. And... I felt confident I would have my answer in hours here versus days there. I shouldn't do it but this was the path of least resistance.

Thanks man! We had some reservations about the interior color: For both of us the black interior thing has worn out it's welcome but it seemed to me the ambient lights were so outragous we could get the color we wanted from those while having the benefits of the easy wearing black interior and it worked out; the lights do enough to satisfy the color craving. Mrs Crab likes to play with them so that's an unexpected bonus. The wood was a tough choice for me but Mrs Crab leaned heavily toward what you see and she had given me my way when I checked one box after another. So, ahem, path of least resistance again.

I ALWAYS come back to a black interior. I dabble in other colors, but really theres something so classy about a black interior, and the lighting you're right adds so much! Most of the black interiors (like mine) have the dark grey wood, I think the brown tone wood really warms it up.

Yeah, I like it, it's additive. The dealership was pushing the grey stuff saying it's what people want and I've had that, I think they called it anthracite over there but same look. It is a good look but outside of the warmth I wanted something breaking up the black. I had it in mind to get the trim with the metal lines but as I said Mrs crab wanted the burl. I suspect because it was a no cost option, but whatever, it looks nice to me and that's good enough.

About those pesky cushions... They do indeed go on the calf rest. I do mean THE calf rest, the car does not have two limo seats so the other one is on backup as standby.

Hey guys, my ordered Maybach S560 arrived after waiting for two years but the dealer asking to pay $30k mark up. When I ordered it the car did not have mark up at that time. How much you think I can close the deal at realistically? I see the used pricing are all over the place. Thanks in advance!

In my mind when I order a car at a price I expect to get it at that price. After making you wait 2 years for it you should get it at the stated price and one of the dealership employees should sleep with you for your troubles. But, I've not been in that market and maybe scumbaggery is just part of the program when purchasing a Maybach?

I'd walk unless you're in a high demand area for Maybachs. Then watch them come groveling back saying "oh, someone made a mistake, so sorry",. Prostitutes.

Another fellow on this thread who had the same date of production is still waiting on the Manufaktur interior and his car has not yet been produced. Whatever the case may be with yours it appears to me they know more than they're saying. The ordering system is messed up, but not so much they can't tell you where you're at in the process.
Yeah, emailed my rep as of last week and no VIN or PO # yet... I need to go in for a Recall Service for the recent notice they sent out for the rear window trim flying off or something, but I feel like asking in person a week later won't get me much of an answer if all Q4 cars are sort of stuck now either due to pricing or interior?

I'm also thinking about pulling my deposit and going to another dealership where it's not pulling teeth and I don't get scoffed at—only concern is due I lose my "place" / slot with my order, or is that not valid until I get an allocation for build which is indicated with a PO # / VIN anyway? I am not in a hurry for the car since it's entering the winter up here in Boston. Thoughts?

Maybe @jsoloddss65 will step in here and give you an idea of what he knew at different points as he waited; certainly as he described it the dealer was better to work with in terms of information.

The pricing is a tough one because the dealers don't know and MB didn't do much I've seen to leave hints that give you an idea when it may drop for various models.

I'm not sure if the same is true for the limited edition cars but with the vanilla stuff their ordering system shows what they have in the pipe and when that allocation is scheduled to go into production within a ten day window. You can certainly call around and see what you see.

If I was going in I'd ask them to show it to me on screen. An honest dealership should be happy to show you the order; mine did. In fact we sat around for 20 minutes trying to get the system to take the options I wanted.

Your dealership sounds like they're being deceptive. Maybe I'm wrong but it's the sense I get.

Sounds like you are just in the dealers order bank. You will only get a PO number if your dealer has an actual allocation. Before you pull your deposit find out if another dealer actually has an allocation.

Porsche dealers do this all the time where they take an order but have no allocation. That's why the wisdom over there is to have them show you the order; you have to know if you have an order to make a decision. Its step one.

@crabman Is spot on with explaining timing. If it helps, here is my history...Used the same dealership for over a decade and lost count of the number of MBZ's I have special ordered, leased or purchased..my salesperson has become a good friend over the years so I am 100% sure I am getting the truth. My s580 order was placed almost to the day as Crabman's. My car was also supposed to be built in the last decade of August and already be in California. However...I don't have it yet. I picked the Manufaktor Deep White interior which is new for 23 (and turned out to be 10K). I have had a PO # since the start but have been on a parts delay. My salesperson sends me screenshots all the time. Netstart does not give much info. He has had to call a separate team (not sure if it was for the state or at corp) to get any information. They had to email Germany. After a few attempts of being told it was on parts hold I finally got a build date of 11/16 2 weeks ago. I will not get a VIN until the car is produced. Again, this was not in the computer at the local dealership. This came from Germany. He did get pricing for me a few weeks ago when everyone else found out. I am right at 160 which is about 10K higher than I guessed being a 23. I am not in a big rush as I lease my daily driver and MBZ is extending my lease month to month until my car arrives. This also happened to be in 19 when I ordered my GT63. It actually was produced on time but sat at the VPC for a over a month waiting for the MY to change. I hope that helps.

If they actually produce it on schedule this time you could be getting a rather nice Xmas present! I think I mentioned it somewhere back there but if not I ended up at 155; a rather impressive 12k higher than 22. O_o Cheaper than another Panamera and my wife considers it a victory, so there is that.
