Official 2023 ordering thread.
BTW, I wonder how is everyone setting up their AAL? I just left mine at 'stock'. I have not changed from its original setting since day 1.

Another mystery is how to switch out of mbux on the tablet? I fiddled with it for a while but wasn't able to get into Android.

Granted that they are a small dealership and yours might be the first Exec trim S-class they handle, but this is not the point. What I am driving at is not their not knowing the function of the pillows, but mainly at the fact of their answering ''Well, we do not know. They came with the car and so we pass them onto you''. This type of answer reflects an underlying attitude of low level service (vs professional level).
As a small dealership, I would forgive them of not knowing the answer right on your first phone call. But, the lack of desire to find out the answer for the customer, especially you are so new to them and the car is still 1 week fresh and also especially the pillows are just a piece of hardware (vs a deep level complicated MBUX software bug, their 'non enthusiastic' response is not acceptable to me.
It is good that you tolerate them and might even find an excuse for them. I surely hope you will have professional maintenance service for your car in the coming years.
(BTW, please do not get me wrong. I really do not want to be hard on them and, most certainly, not hard on you.)
PS maybe you can inform them of this forum so that whenever they need to find an answer for a customer, they can come here and ask...

It seemed to me more likely the dealership was supposed to mount the pads than the factory randomly throwing them in the trunk on this one car and no one noticing in the QC process. And... I felt confident I would have my answer in hours here versus days there. I shouldn't do it but this was the path of least resistance.

About those pesky cushions... They do indeed go on the calf rest. I do mean THE calf rest, the car does not have two limo seats so the other one is on backup as standby.
I'm also thinking about pulling my deposit and going to another dealership where it's not pulling teeth and I don't get scoffed at—only concern is due I lose my "place" / slot with my order, or is that not valid until I get an allocation for build which is indicated with a PO # / VIN anyway? I am not in a hurry for the car since it's entering the winter up here in Boston. Thoughts?
The pricing is a tough one because the dealers don't know and MB didn't do much I've seen to leave hints that give you an idea when it may drop for various models.
I'm not sure if the same is true for the limited edition cars but with the vanilla stuff their ordering system shows what they have in the pipe and when that allocation is scheduled to go into production within a ten day window. You can certainly call around and see what you see.
If I was going in I'd ask them to show it to me on screen. An honest dealership should be happy to show you the order; mine did. In fact we sat around for 20 minutes trying to get the system to take the options I wanted.
Your dealership sounds like they're being deceptive. Maybe I'm wrong but it's the sense I get.
