Wow, Mercedes is righting some wrongs with the 2025 S-Class! You can finally order 4-zone climate control separately which means AMG line cars can FINALLY have rear climate controls. In addition, you can now get the Executive line (renamed Pinnacle) with the AMG package!! Wow, FINALLY!

Any major facelift or interior changes between MY24 and MY25? I'm fortunate to have an allocation for a MY24 S63 but am concerned with the rumored MY25 changes. Any feedback?

Latest indication is that the refresh will be MY2026 since the M25 DOGs already dropped with no cosmetic changes.

Verde silver is a cool color, from the new E Class, also note smartphone as key pre installation is now standard. That’s a great feature.

I would LOVE to divest myself of keys. My house is Apple Home compatible and I use my phone or watch to get in. Honestly...that right there might make we wait for a 25.

I've never used the tech until now, very pleased with it.

The watch didn't fit in with me, it triggered the car at areas close to the garage, and I usually wear mechanicals. Had to test it though, new toy and all that.

It will trigger your car as if you are carrying the key.

You do have to have UWB to get fob functionality, without it, you're near field. And you'd be surprised how many people don't have it, which is why I mentioned it earlier. Or I suppose, more correctly, I was surprised. Lots of owners complain about it over in BMW land.

I have experienced the phone as key functionality with and without UWB…. It is a HUGE difference!. My Tesla had the hardware and through an OTA they added the UWB capability recently, and it’s a big big big improvement. Now I don’t like how my BMWs work with phone as a key. UWB is the only way to go.

BMW uses it, I'm using it right now, works just like the fob. Without UWB it's hold the phone next to the handle, place it on the mat to start. I figured that out when I came back to my car with 9% battery remaining, and it turns out Google shuts down UWB at 15%.

A little tidbit: Mrs Crab doesn't like carrying a fob for my cars, and at times she would be ready to jump in, but couldn't, because I hadn't yet got into proximity. Not a problem now, I sent her a key, so the doors unlock for her when she is in range. She likes that.

Phone as a key is a good feature, I didn't fully appreciate it until now.

It looks like you can now get 490 - E-Active Body Control with the S580e plug-in hybrid, whereas it was only available for the other models in the 2024 order guide.

Oh, I also see that my favorite color is being discontinued!
