I don't have mBrace, but Mercedes me connect is working fine for me. Just remote locked my car in the garage and it worked fine. Maybe an outage affecting the East Coast?

What devices are you guys using? My iphone is working, but differently - everything works but no longer get confirmation messages. Android phone(s) not working at all, can't even sign in. But I have a 18 W222.

Mbrace is the name of the app for model year 17-18 W222 S-Class and some other models. It was a bridge between the older command system and MBUX, which are in 2019 and newer S-Class cars. I think the same for other vehicles in the MB lineup, but don't know the specifics. And some MB vehicles, including S-Class, cars used an old 3G system for talking to the cellular network; for those cars the app no longer works at all. Super confusing on which models, years, and devices are affected.

Mbrace has been down since they did an update, it was actually done on July 25th. But for some strange reason, a lot of people, including myself, could use the app until August 1st. As of 8/1 I can now only use the app on my iPhone, but not on Android. And from 7/25-7/31, it wouldn;t work on IOS, but began to work on IOS on 8/1. Thank goodness you guys aren't expreiencing that problem. MB has been no help on this.

If you extend your Mbrace service (usually a 3 to 5 year obligation) MB is not going to offer you a refund. You have to call to ask for one they claim after service is restored. I don't trust that this service will be restored. The Mbrace app error clearly states "services are not available" and it doesn't seem to be a remedy. I have 2 Benz impacted by this with 3yrs of Mbrace service remaining ..... I got better tech support with my reliable Nissan for their Nissan Connect services and they automatically compensated me for the length of time the service wasn't available.

Obviously I used the wrong name, Mbrace vs Mercedes Me. Mercedes Me has been working fine since that one day.

Just to clarify some of the naming. It continues to confuse people.
  1. mBrace is the old online services platform up to model years 2018
  2. Mercedes me is the old app that goes with mBrace. It sounds like they have renamed the app recently to mBrace as well. Haven't checked that.
  3. Starting with 2019 there's a new platform and app. Both the platform and app are called Mercedes me connect.

You won't miss what you don't know. I'll give you a use case for this connectivity stuff that just came up last night. My car is currently at the dealership to diagnose a clicking in the front. I got reports yesterday from the app and could see them driving the car around their lot, assuming to repro the issue and later the position of the car showed that it was in the service bay, so I know they were working on it. I have also a geofence set up around the dealership, so I get notified if the car is taken off premise. But the real use case I wanna bring up is that I checked on the car later after they closed and I saw that it was outside in their lot unlocked. So somebody forgot to lock it before they closed. I went ahead and locked it from the app. I never missed not being able to keep an eye on my car while it is in the shop, but now I wouldn't wanna give it up. Wondering now how often previous dealerships left my cars unlocked. Hopefully they at least locked away the fob.

I hear you. Interesting.
In a dozen years of S Class ownership, none of those circumstances, so far as I know, have ever arisen.

My use case is that when I go places where I don't want to carry a key but need my phone, I leave my key in an RF blocker Faraday pouch and use my phone to lock and unlock the car. Beach use mainly, but other places as well. I've even left my car at airport parking with the key in the car so I don't have to worry about tracking my key fob while traveling. While not necessary, it's nice to have that option.

I'm probably an outlier in that I use the app every day, and in many ways. None of the fetures are a neccesity, but isn''t that what makes a luxury car luxurious? The little things that make life easier, or add to what I can do. When I owned a Genesis G90 I would tell people it's was 80% of what I had in an S-Class but at half the price. Now that I'm back into S-Class ownership, I'd say it was more like 50%...it never felt "special" like any of my S-Class cars.

Unfortunately, the app is still down as I'm writing this post.

Thank you for mentioning this. My work phone is an iPhone. I just installed the app and Mbrace seems to work fine as well. But for those who have only androids may not get their services restored.

Android app back online and working as of this afternoon. I don't notice anything different except it now asks for more permissions, including the right to send notifications. Also, can now sign in biometrically. I like that feature!

Tried my android phone today. It prompt me to update. So I installed the update. Now it's working again as well. Mbrace customer service also gave me 2 months additional service for the inconvenience.
