Unusual W223s Spotted In The Wild

While filling up at Costco this morning, I saw my first China Blue S580 in the wild. The guy said his wife saw it at the dealer and had to have it. Got to say, after my Olive Green, China Blue is my next favorite color. It had snow white interior. Good looking car!
I had Magic Erase remove the guy from the pic, but it left his feet. LOL
Anyone else see anything in the wild worth posting?

I asked ChatGPT, and as long as he didn't hallucinate, here's what he said:
The colour known as China Blue (Mercedes paint code 934 / sometimes “5934”) was introduced by Mercedes‑Benz around 1978. (Car Touch Up Paint Australia)
One of its earliest documented factory uses is on the Mercedes‑Benz W123 series (launched 1976) — for example a 1980 W123 in China Blue (paint code 934) is featured in a classic-car review. (classiccarstodayonline.com)
So in short:
- Introduction year ≈ 1978
- First appearance: Mercedes-Benz W123 series (early 1980s model year)

When I shop for cars, I'm okay with any color except white and black... but the China Blue didn't appeal to me as much when shopping around.
The Sonoran Brown, I definitely like!

I like having a color that I won't see two of at every intersection. There are way too many black S500s and 580s in Atlanta because of the large number of limousines here. While I don't see many white ones, the Moonlight White is pretty, but keeping a white car clean is a chore.
Like I said at the top of this thread, the China Blue was the first I've seen of that color and it really looked amazing. And when I bought my Olive Green one, I'd never seen one in the wild, but when I did, I knew it was for me.

I would never choose a color like that, too bright IMO.
A friend calls these non-metallic colors refrigerator colors because without the metallic we've grown use to they look like kitchen appliances. About the only color I like is Alpine Grey with black out chrome and wheels. The E450 wagon looks good in that grey/black color too.

Although green was a color we were taught NOT to render in when I was in college, I always had a soft spot for that subtle green metallic paint since I was a kid.
I think it’s a very classy color.
