IMO Mercedes really does overdo cabin lighting. Reminds me of a 1970s strip club. I presume I can turn it off but they went way overboard with the W223

 

Yes you can turn it off, it is good to have it when you want it though, at least the option to turn it off is there.

 

I LOVE it lol. Something I thought was stupid but I absolutely leave it on the craziest multi-color option and turn it all the way up.

You can turn it down, off, set it to white, whatever you want.

My ambient lighting isn't as extravagant as MB but I love how my lights change colors based on the colors in the album art of whatever song is playing.

Gorgeous interior ambient lighting Steve! Did you know that only the S-Class W223 gets the high class premium LED strips? If you compared the W214 E-Class to say a W177 A-Class, the light strip is identical, looks very cheap. Obviously the amount of ambient lighting strips differ but the actual light strip looks identical material wise and design wise.

 

The EQS and most likely the W223 has that too, it was called music visualization unless you mean specifically just static changes of each album art?

I saw my first Maybach S class (W223 today). I haven't gawked that long in a while.

I'm meh on the exterior of the W223 S class, but that Maybach.... after seeing the proportions of that car and the length etc, I think a refreshed Maybach S might be in my future. This is going to sound dickish and I apologize, but these things are...umm, relatively...erm, affordable. It's more than 2 Maybachs for a Ghost, so the way I'm looking at it is, I'm making a responsible choice.

 

It is under effects under ambient lighting, it is called music visualization , I forgot which mbux version it started having it, the launch version is mbux 2.0 (NTG 7.0) for W223, I forgot which models years (if any) got mbux 3.0 (NTG 8)

The interior of the W223 with all the ambient lighting reminds me of a space ship. Its pretty cool!

Out of curiosity, are there any members here that own a present Maybach? I looked through the forum and I couldn't find any. There are no vehicles in my area to test drive and the thing that I'm most curious about is how is this car like as a driver and not as a passenger. There are some chauffeur type vehicles where the driving experience is terrible for the actual operator. I'm curious what it's like for Maybach.

I really appreciate you looking as well so thank you. It is so strange to me that at best the best option I have here through the local dealerships all around my area is to drive a used one. They don't have new ones for test drive....

I actually really love that wood combination and I can say that interior... Is mostly worthy of the S-Class
Badge. I like it or at least most of it!

I think at night I'm okay with it because that center screen that's in front of the driver directly is hidden because of the night and so it makes it look decent 🤣

That said, I am happy to hear that I was somewhat (big or small) helpful though.

Hope you enjoy the Maybach test drive, make sure to call ahead to confirm they even have that vehicle there and not forgot to take it off inventory.

Edit: Forgot to comment on your inquiry of the screen, what don't you like about it? I think it is not bad at all.

 

I can tell you that the center screen in front of the driver doesn't bug me at all, it was the thing I really disliked about the W223 when it first came out.

As for Maybachs, dealers here have them in stock from time to time. Not a lot of buyers at that price point.
