A and B Service Costs for an AMG V8
Well, I was able to get a formal quote from the dealership I’m buying my AMG GT from, which is located 60 miles away from me. The three dealers close to me, which are owned by the same group, would constantly give me the run around when trying to get a quote. The dealer I’m using is a smaller dealer in a much smaller town.
I must say, this isn’t bad at all considering some of the values being mentioned elsewhere. I know AMG service usually comes with a price premium as well. Based on these values, and assuming minimal inflation, three year’s worth of service is just north of $2k, making the prepaid maintenance a ripoff considering it’s usually well north of that value. Mind you, every dealership is different, and it wouldn’t surprise me if my local dealer charges out the wazoo for ‘A’ and ‘B’ service.
This is why people are hesitant to share their service cost. We need more people sharing as a means to educate.

I pay 350-450 USD for my GLS (most other dealers ask 500-700 USD), and the same exact service items used to cost me 0 for the first 3 years, and then 150 USD per year for my X7. There are always offers for 3 years package for 225 USD covering fluids (unlimited miles or unlimited 10K intervals, for 3-years)

BTW, next big item are brakes if you have them done at a dealership, which I don't recommend. Expect around 16k miles out of a set and north of $6000 for a complete job at a dealership. You have to go out and source your own parts and have them done at an indy if you don't wanna bend over and pay that.
EDIT: Oh, you are getting the 55, so you won't have the locking rear differential. Not sure if the standard diff also has a service interval. I believe there's also a service interval for the 4Matic+ clutch in the front. I don't have that with my RWD.
The short of it is that AMGs have more serviceable items and parts are more expensive because they are designed for higher performance and you will go through consumables faster. That's where it adds up to $$$. Tires are more expensive and you will need new ones from often, same goes for the brakes. Obviously a major factor is how you gonna be driving the car. Grandma style or the way it's meant to be. I don't know about you, but a major reason I have an AMG is because I'm not driving it like a would drive a Toyota Camry or even a regular Mercedes-Benz. Gotta pay to play as they say.

Listen, no judgement on what you paid. It’s just the reality of how variable these costs are. I’m hoping others will share as this info can provide a good baseline and talking point for your SA.
Also, I know the other services get more expensive, but I’m just concerned about the “routine” stuff, which shouldn’t have these wild variances in my opinion.
