How many S65s are made each year?
There is like no volume on this board for the S65 or 65s in general vis-a-vis the 55s. I am hence curious...how many 65's are built per year, and S65s specifically? Probably 10% of the 55s?

US numbers per the AMG folks. 2006 to 2008.
S 65 AMG
2006 427
2007 477
2008 295
One of the rarest AMG's around (newer cars), is the R63 AMG. They only produced around 30. Followed by the E series wagons.

1999 ML430, 2007 SL55 (fully optioned including P30 package), 2006 S65, 2010 S65, 2016 S550
SL55 030
I think there were fewer than sixty 2007 SL55's with the 030 performance package. Mine is one of the few of these that was fully optioned and probably the only red/blk such car. Presently in 2014 has 9K miles.
As for a 2006 S65's I just bought one with only 10K miles and will pick it up in CA in August to drive down US1 - bucket list............(G)

No clue as to the number of older S63 but I'm already seeing numerous AWD S63 models in our area. Dealers are selling them as fast as they arrive. Since there is no ABC to deal with prefereable to the new rear wheel drive S65 in my opinion. Just replaced a hose on the 10K mile 06 S65 that I bought - dealer paid the bill as under 60 day warranty and it was leaking when I picked up the car - and I expect there will be more ABC issues in the future. Did just flush the ABC system and the brakes as well. It is questionable if the USAA warranty I purchased will cover ABC repairs but it does cover air suspension components which of course the S65's don't have.

S65 AMG
MB lists the 0-60 times at 4.2 seconds for the S65. The problem is to properly hook up the tires to the road on maximum acceleration. There is so much torque that you can sit there and smoke the tires forever. I give it a short burst and then floor it and even then valuable time is wasted with rear tires spinning.

How did your USAA warranty turn out? I recently bought a 2006 S65 with 73K miles and got the USAA warranty (the one that's essentially a bumper-to-bumper). I spoke with the company that actually pays the claims, Assurant Solutions, and they said it's an "exclusionary warranty" which means anything is covered except what is specifically excluded. I asked her specifically about hydraulic suspension components and she said they're not listed in the excluded items (except for shock absorbers--and that's distinguished from Macpherson struts, which are listed as a covered item). So I'm banking on them taking care of my ABC.
