2007 S65 Distronic Inopperative

Hello. I have a 2007 S65 with 18k miles on it. Recently while on a trip the Distronic Inoperative message came on. I took the car to my local service center (Higginbotham Mercedes) in Jackson, MS. They told me that a sensor was the problem, that was 10 days ago. They've had my car for 10 days, 7 if you count the that they had to order a part, which took 3 days to arrive from Germany. I'm trying to be patient but I'm seriously thinking about sending the car to another service shop.

I guess my question is how long does it usually take to fix a distronic problem?

Thanks in advance

It should only take the days to get parts plus one day..they can replace a transmission in one day, when they have the parts.

Take it elsewhere....dealers typically dont care.

^ That is exactly what is about to happen. It's about to be taken to another shop, this amount of time makes no sense. I'm picking the car up tomorrow because I don't have time to hear the lies. I'm really thinking about never returning to this Higginbotham Mercedes of Jackson again, for sales or service.
Thanks for responding mrbenzes.

After talking to management.....in a nutshell they want one more chance. I get a call and they tell me they've been inserting the wrong sensor for 8-9 days. Who inserts the wrong part for over a week without noticing it? They went on to explain that the wrong sensor was shipped to them. Even if it was, why didn't you notice it? To all my fellow Benz drivers...if you want to avoid a headache, please avoid Mercedes of Jackson, MS, just a heads up. Supposedly the car will be ready tomorrow at noon.

Tomorrow at noon? Does that mean they can now get the right part from Germany in 1 day plus instalation....sounds like a smoke screen to me. Hopefully they havent put 10,000 miles on your car as well...
Just sayin...

They are absolutely horrible, Mercedes needs to take their flag away. I have never had a satisfactory experience from them. Not capable of anything, not even a wheel alignment. Yet don't hesitate to charge you full price and then some.

I agree with you 100%. I've been dealing with 11.5 days of smoke screens.

Lol! You feel my pain. You are right about the wheel alignment issue. When I put the OEM chrom rims on the S600 they didn't even put the weights in the correct spots, so I just went to Big10 Tires and they had me driving a straight line in less than a hour. Mercedes really should take their flag away. I remember when they were Blackwell Mercedes, everything was much more professional and smooth; that's for both sales and service. But every since Blackwell sold their dealership, it has since turned to a 100% stealership. This is my last trip to Higginbotham Mercedes of Jackson, MS for a looong time.

Day 12, the service advisor called and said the car is fixed. Hopefully it is fixed correctly.
