s 55 amg 2002 active body control issues

well in a nutshell here it goes , purchased car about three years ago . Every day whenever I left the car upon return , the car had sunk . Upon starting would raise up , thought this was normal . fast forward to few months ago , red light has been coming on for a while and noticed that's its handling ability diminished , along with the jolt from going over bumps. few weeks ago the car would stay jacked up , but higher than normal ( a lot higher) now the car is resting on one side , kind of like a one legged duck . I did check fluid level , that was ok and no leaks that I noticed . Any ideas ?? is it a bad strut , ABC pump , valve block or sensor or all of the above ...

Ussually if it sunk like that. It's the valve blocks and also the tandem pump is on it way out too as well (doesn't hold pressure after engine turned off).
Sorry but either way, it's gonna be expensive fix

Its easy to be negative about ABC when it goes wrong, but its not necessarily a disaster. This case may be as simple as a valve block service - clean out and re-seal. There are several threads and videos about this. Just google "abc valve block repair"

Would the system tell you if the valve block was leaking?
No, I can't see how it can.
Its not exactly a rare fault, and in every instance reported around here, nobody said DAS told them where to look.
Not have they said there were any external leaks. They have always been internal.

lets say your right , after looking at the you tube on abc block repair seems to me that most of the fixes stem from here , and that most of all the other work done is a waist . especially the comments coming from this one knowledgeable person in the comments section . not sure how to proceed , do I go to the stealership and get a bunch of rotten codes or do I delve into this 90 minute procedure.

Depends how good you are at DIY. You will need new O-rings to rebuild the valve blocks.
I have an O-ring kit, they are listed on one of these forums.
A dealer will replace the valve block and not rebuild it.
There are extensive tests on SDS that your dealer could do, if they know how.
The only code you are likely to see form a quick test is low pressure.

i am quoting someone i looked at regarding abc valve block repair " almost every problem ive ever seen with ABC cars is caused by dirty fluid , keep that in mind I worked at the dealership for 8 years until 2009 so I no what im talking about . the fluid gets worked hard and pentosin leaves deposits when heated. Your car uses air instead of fluid but somewhat similar . If you here air leaking thats a pretty good clue that there is a problem. Just follow the noise until you find the leak. I worked on hundreds of late model benz, honestly , hundreds and thats how we diagnosed suspension issues end of story" he continues on with how to work each strut .

I always recommend people to look at this thread on W220 maintenance, which should help provide some confidence in what can be done:

Jnash if their is no leak is that a good sign , in otherwords does it rule out a bunch of issues or not enough info to go from . BTW you have been very very very helpful cant thank you enough.
