renntech EVM

I have the ASR version which is identical (I believe ASR makes the Renntech module for Renntech). There weren’t installation instructions that came with it - but I can tell you that the installation is very simple. The hardest part is getting the exhaust flap clips unhooked (it’s a pain! Probably a lot easier if you have a lift). You pull the white tab outwards on the clip to unlock it and then have to pull the clips out with a lot of wiggling and force (wear gloves). Once you get the clips on each side off you simply connect the controller to to the OEM plugs and plug the controller into the OEM flaps.
You’ll also want to remove the large metal plate on the bottom of the car to run the wires into the cabin. It’s 3 bolts in the front, 2 or 3 bolts in the middle, and 2 bolts and 1 torx screw in the back. It comes out easily.
When you take out the bin at the bottom of the trunk you’ll see there’s a rubber grommet on the driver side that you can run the wires through to under the car easily. I mounted the module on the left side of that area in the trunk - you’ll see a crevice there where you can double sided tape it to the car and then be able to fit the bin back in.
And that’s it! It’s probably an hour or less to install it, with the exception of how long it takes you to get the OEM exhaust clips disconnected. I did it from the ground, without a lift, so it took me a while to figure out how to get them off. I almost gave up and paid someone to do it - but finally got them off when I realized how they connect. Again, white clip popped outwards - pull and wiggle like heck. Over and over until they finally come out. I used a hook/pick tool to reach the white tabs and pull them outwards.
The module gets power from the OEM wiring so there are no power connections you need to make.
Here’s a thread I created regarding getting the connectors off:
