That 4 door GT is just ugly. Not my cup of tea either as some have said, as it has no feel at all like the 2 door GT has. One is a sports car, the other is a ??

the other is a heavy luxury car based on the E-class, engineered specifically by AMG and disguised to look like a sports car with 2 extra doors. Only problem is it doesn’t look all that much like a “real” 2 door coupé GT model from AMG. I won’t call it ugly, but it is what it is, a perfect daily driver for someone who can’t stand the idea of being seen in a dreadful E63 AMG.

To me the front looks like the S63 coupe and the interior is more based on the E63. I don't really like the rear of the sedan.

2019 AMG GT63S 4 door coupé
Your looking at it, the hot 63S variation comes with 630hp and 627lb-ft. The fixed rear wing is part of a optional package which includes a revised front carbon splitter. Otherwise it comes standard with the deployable rear spoiler. There is rumor that a 800hp “73” version will debut sometime later on, the “73” will use hybrid technology similarly to how Porsche does it on the sexy Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Probably will cost a fortune to buy the 73, I presume upwards of $150k.

Like most, disappointed with the overall exterior look. I can't imagine what the Porsche fans will rightfully say about it (first gen Panamera with an MB badge).
The new 8 series gran coupe looks amazing and what I had hoped the GT 4 door would more resemble.
I guess I am keeping my deposit on the black series and only hope the interior of this 4 door will trickle to it.

Been at the Geneva show for the last 2 days looking at the car.
its nice but just doesn’t have the brtual impact of the amg gt 2 door
More power than the GTR which as a future GTR owner is a little disappointing (guess we will definitely be getting a car anove the GTR sooner rather than later)

IMO, I think the car doesn't look bad at all but the AMG GT nomenclature makes for very misleading expectations. If they would called it a CLS 63, it would have been very much in line with expectations. Be interesting to see how the CLS53 stacks up to the AMG GT 53 4door price-wise. That would account for the active aero, interior and rear wheel steering (unless an option on the 53).

The new AMG GT-4 isn’t a ugly car in my opinion. It’s just not looking like a 4 door AMG GT. I guess the MRA platform had its limitations on how low they could sit the engine in the chassis. I wish the 4 door versions headlights looked more like the 2 door GT headlights. I think it’s will sell as the interior is very attractive and the overall it’s a handsome car. It’s interesting that BMW also debuted its replacement for the 6 series Gran Coupé today. The new 8 series GC has stolen my heart. Even though I love AMG far more than bmw M this 8 series 4 door is a winner in the looks department. If they are similarly priced I might pick up the bmw 8 when I finally decide to retire my current daily driver.

Always liked BMW concepts just to find out that their production models look lame in comparison. This is yet another concept even though it's called "near-production". I remember BMW hyping the 7 series with some interesting concept just to introduce boredom on wheels. The M8 GC will likely be better but I will wait with my opinion. Production model will definitely be over-priced like the old 6 series GC BMW but with door handles
At least you can get 20 k off a BMW lol.

Yeah, I agree. According to car and driver the GT53 doesn’t offer rear wheel steering. I bet Mercedes will charge a $4-6k premium for the GT53 over the CLS53 AMG. It will be interesting to see a shoot out comparison with the CLS53, the E43, all new GT53 AMG’s.

yea.. everyone keeps showing that M8 pic.. but its a concept, not gonna look like that in real life.. will look like everything else they've sold for the last 15 years...which is way worse than the cars they sold in the 80's to late 90's... granted I dont hate the e92 M3/sedan...M2 is ok..

M8 GC looks a LOT better than the GT4 .
there is a strong chance the production car will not be very diluted...because the dilution already happened vs. the concept first shown in Italy last year at Villa D’Este ...
The segmentation is very thin between the CLS and the GT4 ... the 3/4 look of GT4 looks like the first ugly Panamera.....
As for the interior .... don’t like the center “V” console vs. the GT (much nicer with the round ****/ dials)
I also think BMW is doing a pretty good job modernizing their Gauges (MPH and RPM) and digitizing the look without going all the way to Mercedes’s long rectangle screen ....
This is is why I like my GTR...classic round gauges with actual hands...
The M8 GC or M8 coupe may very well be my 4 seater performance GT ....
Keep my GTR and add an M8 ...sounds like a very nice combination.

For me being a 4 door performance car nut, this car was exciting but once I found out it was essentially built on a CLS chassis, that ruined it for me. This car needed to be a 4 door AMG GT and it’s not. It had to be less than 4,000lbs and it won’t be. There’s too much luxury in this car which makes it go away from the purpose of the original AMG GT.

Either you build a sports car or a luxury car. Not many luxury cars at the track.
It defeats at the purpose of the AMG subdivision . This is ok as a Mercedes sedan . Get rid of the spoiler and performance seats. I’m sorry.

As a proud owner of a C63 AMG which just happens to be a Mercedes Luxury sedan that can be tracked if the owner desires I have to disagree with your above statement. Mercedes AMG makes some the most comfortable and snug performance seats in the business. The the Wing spoiler is part of a optional track package that the purchaser can choose to add to the car if they drive the car at very high speeds like 180 mph. I’ve chased down guys driving Lamborghini Huracans and Acura NSX’s at my last track event in a so called Luxury car. This car does serve a purpose, it may not be your cup of tea, but I have no doubt I will see these things flying around some closed courses once it debuts. In fact I prefer driving my luxury car over my 2900lb 981 Cayman S which is fun to drive fast, but lacks the torque that I want to pass up slower moving cars above 100 mph. In the hands of the right driver these modern AMG sedans (particularly the E63S and C63S) are brutally fast and shouldn’t be underestimated.
