Cutting is involved only to get the stock cats out of the car to save time. If you don’t want to cut out the stock downpipes then the transmission needs to be dropped to get them out without cutting.
The new ones, bolt right in, no issues. Originally thought it would be 7-8 hour job, first install here got it done in 4 hours including removing the stock downpipes(by cutting)

Can you expand on what you mean by transmission drop since it is in the back?
This sounds quite a bit scary as I was planning to do this myself on a lift with a knowledgeable friend. I am fine taking an exhaust apart and dismantling non moving parts but it sounds like another level.
Also, what do you mean by the "new" ones?

I believe there are only 2 forum members that are running our GTS tunes. If I'm not mistaken, Kumizi is running our tune, maybe he can chime in with his experience. Agreed, it is hard to beat this price!

1st step, even listed by Mercedes, is to drop the transmission in order to remove the cats. You can disregard that step if you cut them out instead.
"New Ones" = Aftermarket downpipes. Sorry I should have been more clear!

Drop the torque tube, with transmission and rear subframe. OR you can cut it and forego all of that. Thank you for posting the pic! We were talking about the same thing, just two different perspectives!

1. I have the Eurocharged tune and downpipes. Tune has been trouble free. No drivability problems or CELs. As for power, all the tunes available for these cars make within 10hp. The car picked up a ton of midrange hp and tq and close to 60whp peak IIRC. Stock cars make 480-500whp and tuned cars makes 535-550whp.
2. All the research I did on doing downpipes showed 8-10 hours of labor because the entire drivetrain needs to be dropped. This included Weistec, Renntech, and Agency Power. I even drove to Eurocharged expecting to leave my car there for two days. They called and said they could have me on the way back to Dallas in ~2 hours if they could cut my stock downpipes. I was just going to trash my stock DPs so I said yes.
I've been doing high Horsepower builds for quite a while now on different platforms and I asked around a bit about Jerry @Eurocharged. I got positive reviews whether it was from the Lambo guys, Viper guys, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Actually I do plan to use them again as soon as I get some feedback on the turbo cartridge upgrade.

I agree with Kumizi. Jerry is a top notch guy and his shop does great work. I had a C63 and a CLS63 with his tune and pipes and they ran flawlessly.
My issue with cutting pipes is that once you want to resell your car, it is quite an issue as most states require a yearly emission inspection.
It would make sense to offer 200cell cats with the downpipes.

I have Eurocharge tune as well
I had Eurocharge tune my car a few months back. Great results! No problems and no issues. It's well worth the extra performance.
I personally would not do the down pipes. I really don't want the extra exhaust noise that comes with the little extra HP.
I met Jerry and he's a straight up guy. Explains what he's doing and answers all your questions.
I highly recommend Eurocharge as a tuner.
