Next E Class Generation...

Now that our 2015 E400 has past the factory warranty period, maybe in the market for replacement in next few years.
Does anyone know when the next generation E class comes out, what year model...?
Thanks,

W213's have been out for a couple of years now, 2017 and on. You may not have noticed as they look similar to W212.

The current W222 S-class will be refreshed first probably in 2021 to the W223. The current W213 E would likely get updated into the W214 in 2022.

2022, at the earliest, IMO....

Since 1995, each generation of E-Class was produced on a 7-8 year plan. The W210 was produced for 8 years. W211 and W212 were each on a 7-year cycle. Other MB models generally follow a 7-year plan, too. You can review the tenure of each model on the "Mercedes Benz Sedans" sub-forum here at MBWorld..

2022 would be 6-years for the W213. So my bet is on 2023 for any W214 (if the pattern continues).

Any heavy manufacturing industry -- like cars -- has to have a master plan that is 10-20 years into the future, to balance the production needs of several models within a brand. None of us are in that inner circle, so we can only guess.

FWIW, the mid-cycle W213 "refresh" is coming soon.

Unless they do a significant facelift and make the W213 look a bit more distinct, I can't foresee myself wanting one. Nice interior but the exterior is bland bland bland, except the coupe. That's how I feel about the current C and S too unfortunately.

I actually agree, just my opinion. I have a w212 and had to bring it in for some warranty service. I had a w213 loaner for 2 weeks and just was not impressed. I couldn’t wait to get my car back. I feel the w212 is more luxurious while the w213 is more sporty. Again, it’s just my taste.

Thanks for the info updates.
Looks like extended warranty will us hold over until mid 2023. Maybe trade in for the latest w213 for a good price, before the w214 comes out...?
My wife loves the safety & luxury, and I like the bi-turbo of the E400...

Really hope for a significant facelift to the W213. The FL W212 sport looks so much better than any of the 213s right now. I love the interior but the exterior is a big "meh" from me.

I wonder what about OP's E400 experience is giving him worry about owning it out of warranty? Mine only has 30K miles, do I have a nightmare ahead of me? I somehow doubt it, the 212 seems like a solid platform and the E400 isn't exactly pushing the internals to the limits given the same engine serves in higher output duty in the 43 models with the exact same hardware.
