P06DA code - oil pump solenoid
Car has thrown "Stop Vehicle. Leave Engine Running" about 5 times in a month. The light happens at startup or while driving, with no effect on its handlling. Car in idle didn't remove it either.
Searching through the site pointed to threads recommending a new battery (mine is 3 years old OEM). Made a note to visit the dealer someday for a new battery.
But last week, the code appeared again while I had ambient lighting and a headunit installed at a shop.
They used a scan tool that gave P06DA code: https://www.obd2-code.com/2017/04/dt...l-circuit.html
Code wasn't able to be cleared. Anyone have experience with this code? Are these errors related or 2 coincidences? Car is under warranty so I'll be checking with them soon.

it's a fault in the oil pump solenoid, likely to be due to a bad connector or wire..... not related to the battery.
and the code appears most times during a cold start, even after clearing the code.
In order to repair this, you need to drop the front subframe and oil pan.
Part numbers are:
- A 278 180 04 15 (Engine Oil Pump Control Valve)
- A 274 150 86 02 (Oil Pump Adaptor Cable)
and the code appears most times during a cold start, even after clearing the code.

Update: I went to dealer to replace battery under warranty but was told batteries are in backorder for a month. I replaced the main battery with an Optima H6 AGM battery. Both codes went away!

I did replaced oil pump solenoid on my 2016 C300, at indy shop, code went away but CEL came back with other misfire faulty codes. M274 has bigger issues with ECU and faulty sensors sending mis-information caused engine misfiring, #1 piston and wrist pin defects, MBUSA is aware of these issues and not doing anything about their customers.

W205 oil pump adapter cable questions
Very helpful, about dropping the subframe. I could only find videos on the cla and the one I found in the w205 didn’t have much instructions and it was in Hindi...
Im looking to get step by step instructions in replacing the adapter cable.
do you have the link or pdf?
Thank you in advance my friend.

adaptor cable is inside , you have to remove oil pan and sub-front frame end with complete bumper removed to get access.
my another 2015 C300 4matic have same faulty code "current" showing on MBII scanner.

It was the wire assembly NOT the solenoid!
Thank you. Yes I had to remove the front sub frame, front bumper, exhaust, intake box and snorkel, and the steering column. The mini black oil pan that’s bolted to the oil pan itself, must be removed first, for there is an internal bolt holding the entire (silver) oil pan. Then of course the actually oil pan which is removed last.
I only changed out the wire assembly, the actual oil pump solenoid was NOT the issue and did not have to be replaced.
Check engine light is now off!
thank you friends.

Same code on our 2017 GLC300
Our car did not display a message on the dash but the code is stored but I cannot erase it. The battery is getting relatively old so maybe I am getting some odd glitches here and there.
Been Googling it and came across this document. It appears Mercedes is saying "don't worry about it" at least for the GLC300? It is not 100% clear. Does anyone know what they mean by the "guided test"? An active test that must be done using their test equipment?

this was HOW my 2016 C300 started at 48k miles, I replace oil pump solenoid, by removing bottom front bumper cross frame assembly, only can be done with lift at shop. faulty code gone, but came back with the rest of more faulty codes LEAD to piston#1 cracked with no compression.
they are all related to beginning sign of misfire and SURE to engine failure

I got this error code at 40K miles, 2017 C300. it didn't turn the CEL on but was stored in the memory as "current". Xentry displays "P06DA00 Ignore error code and erase fault memory". I tried to erase it but it's not possible as it's "current".
I did some research and found what others say:
"Open circuit in the Y130 valve which reduces the oil pressure generated by the pump. You will always get excessive oil pressure. It will not compromise lubrication though."
"It's just a generic code. You need to test the activation of the oil pump valve in Xentry".
"90% of M274 engine have this issue and MB can't fix the all. They chose to say ignore it".
MB tech bulletin :

MB tech bulletin :
Fault code P06DA00 is found current or stored in engine control unit. It is caused by Open circuit in harness to nonessential part. Fault code P06DA00 can be ignored unless otherwise specified in the guided test. Warranty claims submitted without supporting guided test results may be subject to debit. Fault code P06DA00 will not cause the check engine light to be illuminated. The vehicle continues to operate as designed. Further causes should be investigated if complaint of check engine light is received.

Verdict?
This is what I have on my '17 C200 @ 112km's, P06DA00 + the check engine light is on only with this code. It's booked in at official mercedes shop in 2 weeks, will be interesting to see what they do. A shame they will charge me a fee for diagnostics when I already gave them the code however.

If your water temperature isn't showing as around 90c, I would bet it's the same thermostat issue. Everything else online pointed to that sensor in the oil pan but that wasn't the case for me, it was a 3rd party code reader that originally diagnosed it.

Oil pump solenoid wire assembly
I have a C200 , 2016 , in uk . I am looking for help with this solenoid wire assembly . My warranty company say they do not cover wiring looms and are defining this component as such , and refusing to honour the warranty . I believe that the component is an integral part of the oil pump , which they say they do cover , and not a wiring loom. Especially as the sump cover must be removed to gain access to replace it. For UK members it is an auto are warranty for 2 years ,still with 14 months to go , with Arnold Clark . Looking for advice as garage bill is expected to be £1500.

If it is not a battery issue and only the issue with the solenoid, since MB says it is an non-essential part, then do what the XENTRY TIPS says.

Another 274 engine problem: Car is 2019C300 4MATIC with 51,200miles. Just had a major repair of the engine to replace the "Directional Oil Valve". I think it's in/near the oil pump. The Check Engine Light came on solid, and I took it to dealer right away. They had to disassemble nearly the entire front end: frame, suspension, steering, axles, engine mounts, ... I purchased the car on 12/07/22 and bought the extra 2 years of warranty for $2745. This repair would have been about $3,100 if I had not bought the extended warranty.
If you like the W205, I'd wait until I found a 6 cylinder version. Here's some data from Wiki:
