I never received an OTA update for the maps so manually updated from v15 to v18 two weeks ago. (https://www.me.mercedes-benz.com/pas...l/manualupdate)

Upon checking this week i saw that the v19 was released so loaded it up on a USB stick. When I insert the stick into the car it sees the update and prompts me to start it. After several minutes, I get an error stating that no update is needed although the stick is v19 and the car is on v18. Has anyone encountered this issue? Is there a way to force the update to go through or reload the maps?

So much for automatic updates. I just looked for the first time and I am on v13, which I believe is the original maps that came with the car, 2023 580 sedan. I guess I should try to update manually.

Need a little help in downloading maps manually. I tried to download new maps on my Apple laptop. It said download manager can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. I may have to try my dell desktop computer. Also it says use an empty usb stick. I think the EQS only has usb-c slots. Is this true? Also when you plug in the usb stick in car can you use any open usb slot in the car?? Thanks for any help, as instructions online are pretty poor.
And while I’m at it, has anyone inquired why the “automatic “ download of maps has obvious not worked since I am on v13 (2022), when v19 (2024) has the latest maps. I’ve had the car a little over a year now.

I just set this up earlier tonight on mine. You have to go to System Preferences/Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Look for a button that says "Open Anyway" and it'll allow you to open the file and install the program

I used the USB stick from our Tesla (which is the older USB-A, not the USB-C like in our cars). It has to be completely empty first. I tried using it with an adapter in the car and it said adapters weren't allowed. I ordered a new USB-C drive that'll be here in a couple days. I tried the 4 in the upper section of the center console and same result with each.

When we still had this off-line update option, I always struggled if I had multiple regions (of Europe) selected for update at once. One region at a time was fine. Not sure if you can split US maps though or is it always one file.

us maps can be split. I tried with three apple devices to no avail and just got a cheap windows laptop.

please let me know if anyone is able to update to v19.

I've seen two "map update completed notices" in the ~5 months I've owned my EQE SUV. Automatic. I did not bother digging around to determine which ones - but I presume Sweden and/or Northern Europe.
Bottom line is that automatic map updates can -- and do -- work...at least for some of us.

Well, after some trial and error I finally downloaded Mercedes download manager and added the updated maps I wanted to install. After downloading maps program said download was successful. I used a SAN disc usb-c stick and plugged it in slot in console. Got error message files were corrupt. Plugged it into different usb port and got same error message. Now lists 2 map software updates are available for my car. Tried to delete them to no avail. Any suggestions? I was trying to update to v19. Maybe this is the problem?? Is this what Baran experienced when he said couldn’t upload v19.

I never got the corrupt error. In my case the car sees the update and starts it before timing out in a minute or so and saying no update needed at this time.

I keep getting file is corrupt error. And now I go back on my laptop to try to download the map update again and I can’t get the download manager to work. Extremely frustrating.

I was getting correupt errors today when I did a manual update. Turns out I had another drive inserted in another usb port for dashcam. I removed the dashcam drive and turned off the auto loop recording. Once I started the update again it went with any issues I did 3 regions in approcimately 1 hour 20 mins.

I've had numerous OTA map updates. They even install while driving. I think that the maps update when you enter a different geographic zone. During my 4000 mile road trip the map updated twice! My guess is that the on board map level of detail is divided by time zones.

Good news. After trying for a few hours using my Mac book pro laptop to download latest maps, I gave up and downloaded the updates from my dell desktop. I downloaded 3 sections on the east coast US along the 95 corridor from Maine to Florida. The previous updates which I tried to load onto the car which were reported as corrupted fortunately were no longer listed on the car when I went to download the maps from the dell computer. Lo and behold, the downloads were a success. I now have successfully loaded v19 in my car manually. The down load took over an hour but fingers crossed, everything seems to have worked this time. I will probably never drive this car anyplace else except north and south along the east coast of US so I don’t see any reason to update those other maps.

Not sure why I didn’t get any OTA updates. I bought the car in RI and had it trucked to my Florida house, where it has stayed for the last year. All my maps were on v13 before I was just able to update to v19 along the east coast.
I vaguely remember someone saying something about designating a geological zone, but not sure if that is correct. I’m not sure you can even do this.

I got the corrupt file message when used my Apple laptop for the download process. I also have a usb stick plugged in for the dash cam. I erased everything on the map update usb stick and repeated the process using a dell desktop computer. I was able to install the updates without error with the dash cam usb stick in place.
I have to say Mercedes instructions as to how to do this process are extremely rudimentary. No word as to plugging in the usb stick. Any empty usb port?? Do you have to remove any existing usb sticks?? (No, as far as I can tell). And also I believe the car has to be turned on for the upload to process. I plugged the usb stick overnight with the car turned off and maps didn’t load. As soon as I turned the car on, the uploading of maps resumed. Also it is a very slow process. Did the east coast first and took a few hours. Doing the mid USA now and looks like it will be a few hours as well.

I finally managed to install mine. Some files in the first download were corrupted, resulting in only a few regions being successfully installed. I reformatted the flash drive and tried again. This time, I downloaded only the regions that needed to be updated, as my account indicated the others were up to date. The lesson I've learned from this experience is that we shouldn't rely on OTA updates for anything significant. If Mercedes can't even send us map updates over the air, can they realistically handle anything more important?
