So... I backed out of the garage before the door was totally open. Thats when I saw my antenna (shark fin) fly past my windshield. The antenna shell is in one piece but the inner plastic parts are damageged. My am/fm radio and GPS work fine but my Sirius XM works for about 5 minutes the shows "no signal". I'm looking to replace the antenna (innards) but I can't locate whete to get one... (one that also is tuned to get Sirius XM). Also, any place I can find basic instructions? Or must I go to a dealer? Any thoughts, commnts or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
WOW! Thanks for the quick and comprehensive response. Much appreciated! Now I have to take a while to try to wrap my head around all the info. Again... many thanks!!

So, if you know the configuration of your car, I can help you get the correct part number. Put your VIN in at www.lastvin.com and it will show your data card with all the option codes. On the parts list, it has codes associated with each part. The printout does not show them all, but the EPC application does.
(WIS=Workshop Information System, EPC=Electronic Parts Catalog. You can find stand-alone copies on eBay that run on a virtual machine on your PC or maybe Mac.)
Problem solved! Antenna replaced! Everything worked! It doesn't get better than that!!!! The only thing that slowed me down was the MB info that the headliner had to be removed. I really hesitated about that. THAT would have been a BIG job. However I found that my 2014 E350 had a removable access panel right below the antenna! EASY PEASY!!!!! Found a replace antenna on E-bay for $50. Thanks for your help and encourragement.
