Climate control-Fan not working

It choose a 98 degree day to do it, but the fan slowly died on the A/C. At speeds, I felt a slight airflow. The temps seemed to be very cool though. I've checked the small fuses and all look good.
Any ideas as to what to do next? Thanks

AND/OR the controller that piggy backs the blower motor.

The fuse is the green 30 Amp Fuse, it is not one of the small ones. So the blower motor is not working or only very slow?

For my opinion, the blower motor dies first, after a while, the regulator follows. Both are expensive and not easy to replace. There is a chance of repair: The contact surfaces of the collector are often smeared with abrasion from the carbon. As a result, the power consumption increases and the regulator burns out. You can try to clean the gaps by scratching them out, maybe then the engine will work again.

When you say 'regulator' are you referring to the 'controller' per Mahunt?

I'm guessing you also have a relay somewhere, I would make sure that is functional as I have seen those malfunction in different models of the same era. They take all the many Amps of current and do not last forever.

There is no relay, the regulator is always on power, the two large wires. The thinner wire is the speed control line from the climate control unit.

Blower speeds:
1 0.8-1.2 VDC
2 1.8-2.2 VDC
3 2.7-3.3 VDC
4 > 5 VDC

In that case the relay must be built into the controller in your model. Usually this is separated out for serviceability because that is a wear component and will fail sooner or later.

I see, It is a DC-DC converter design in that controller. 12V in and regulated voltage out for each setting. Makes sense...

Mine did this a few years back. The bracket that holds the blower fan motor in broke which in turn allowed the blower motor to skew around and the impellers hit the housing and stopped turning. That happened on a cross-country trip and we were in NM at the time with 100 plus days, not a lot of fun!

I elected to 'do it once, do it right' so I pulled the entire unit out, fitted a new motor and impellers, new controller and I made a more substantial bracket. The process of accessing the blower motor is not all that hard, and there is a detailed 'how to' I think on this forum - will search and if I find it I will post tho link.

EDIT: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/ga.../#post-4921909 THIS is the best DIY and the one that I used.

Essentially you get the wiper mechanism out of the way and then there is a panel that holds the blower assembly - 4 bolts removes that and the rest is pretty easy.
