Observation on Front Fenders

When washing my car today, I noticed when spraying the car with the hose, a totally different sound with the water hitting the front fenders versus the door or the rear side panel. The front fenders have a tinny sound to them.

Are they a different material?

Nah, it's just a bit more hollow I believe. I remember that bugged the hell out of me when I started going detail fanatic, but now it's no big deal.

Same material, the doors are filled with different parts including many items that are attached to them. It also has reinforcements for safety reasons.

The fenders are basically hollow so there would be some difference when the water hits the fender as opposed to the door panel even though they are made of the same material.

It doesn't bother me

It doesn't bother me, it's just a little strange. I also washed my S500 today and didn't notice that when doing that car. I was just curious if for some reason something different was used there. Thanks.
