SL/R230: Seat Belt Light Flashing

Seat Belt Light Flashing
? for you guys.
In my 06 SL600 the passenger seat is detecting my 14 pound dog and the seat belt light flashes in the instrument cluster and the dinging sound is heard in the car. What is strange is that in my 05 SL600 the sound was not heard and him being in the seat did not matter, and actually if a passenger was riding and didn't have their belt on it would not be heard either.
Is their anyway to adjust the weight tolerance in the seat for the sensor.
In another part of the forum the mentioned being able to do this on another car, the dealer said it is not possible to do, but that may be their brush off answer.

Your right he doesn't damage a thing. You would never even know he has been in there, except for a little hair which doesn't really show on the stone interior. Now if the interior was black, it would be a different story, hair absolutely everywhere.

The ding ding can be disabled via STAR and the weight adjusted as well. My 05 E class had the same feature and it was VERY annoying. If I set my briefcase on the passenger sit it would ding ding away.
Some dealers wont turn it off....
