Feels good to have her BACK!

Well after 2 weeks of being without my SL600, I finally got her back. I had taken the car through emission inspection 6 times, it would not get a reading, and kept saying monitors were not ready. I had bought the car used 2 months ago or so with the Renntech upgrades already done. So I took it into the dealership.

Mercedes Benz of Nashville decided to go beyond their duty and help me out. The dealership decided to order me a new computer free of charge. When they replaced the ECU they found 2 bad O2 sensors, which they replaced. They then took my car to the emission inspection THEMSELVES, and it passed. They then took out and shipped the new ECU to Renntech at their own expense, who flashed it with the newest version of software (better than what was currently on my old ECU) free of charge and sent it back. MB of Nashville then reinstalled the computer free of charge, drove the car to make sure it didn’t throw any codes, washed the car, and called me to come pick it up. I didn’t pay a single dime for anything.

Keep in mind that I didn’t even buy the car from MB of Nashville, and they still did everything they could to help me out. They could have easily claimed that the Renntech upgrades caused the problem with the computer and charged me out the a ss. They set me up with a loaner car and kept me informed all throughout the process. Renntech was also very helpful and informative.

I can honestly say the car pulls a bit harder now compared to the old upgrade. I am very very very satisfied with how things went, and I am glad I was finally able to register the car and put this whole miserable issue behind me. I feel very lucky to own one of the best cars on the planet, and live only 2 miles from such a wonderful MB dealership, especially after hearing all the horror stories others have with their dealer. I will definitely buy my next one from there. Finally I can enjoy the car!!

I was up there last week with my SLK320 to get a frame bolt fix/replace. It is sad that I have to drive to Nashville to get any good work done on my car.

My SLK320 was in a major accident on October 1, 2003. The Memphis Mercedes prefer body shop screw up my car. State Farm allowed me to take my car to the prefer Mercedes body shop in Nashville. The Nashville dealership and body shop did a hell of a job on my car. It drives like brand new. I got my car back on November 5, 2005.

Bill is the shop manager and Mark is the Operations Director. They will do anything in their power to please the customer

My dealer would have been one to charge me out the a$$. One service manager tried to nickle and dime me every chance she could. I complained and I'm very glad to know she was let go. They've also done a million other things to pi$$ me off. You have a great dealership over there, mine would have never done something like that. Maybe I need to drive down to Nashville to get some good service.

I purchased my SLK320 and SL500 in Nashville. The dealership has always been nice to me.

So acicchelli, who has the best steak and lobster in Nashville? Wife got tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Grand OLE Opry House.

I just ate at the Stock Yard this past friday. It was very good and won some awards. They even came and picked us up. I still prefer Ruth's Chris, although I have only eaten at the one in Memphis, and not the one in Nashville yet. My regular favorite, since it's in Franklin and only like 2 miles away is Stoney River. I am more of a steak person, I never eat lobster, so I cant vouch for these places lobster.

Ruth's Chris is great.. I would stay away from Stock Yard. It is absurdly overpriced. Last time I went it was a $300 for 2 eating Steak, Salad(at least that is what they call it, tasted like grass to me, with goat cheese) and a Bottle of Wine. It is very classy place but I think it is way overated. Service is excellent. My wife could not eat anything but the steak and a piece of bread. So if your Wife is picky at all go to Ruth's Chris or another. A good place with excellent food but a less than classy atmosphere is the Shack in Hendersonville 10-15 minutes from Opryland(traffic willing). They have excellent lobster and seafood and steak is O.K. More casual atmosphere.

Just my 2 cents.

Have fun!

acicchelli glad to have a member close by. Next season I am going to rent the Track in Bowling Green at Beech bend and invite mbworld members to play, you should come up and test out a few of your rides. BTW, my sister lives in Franklin also. I am in Nashville 3 times a week for business.

C-ya,
Scott

I like Stoney River around the Cools Springs mall. They let people wear shorts in that place.
