Wood Trim Package Installed

Yesterday I had the dealer install the 318 Trim Package: wood & leather steering wheel and shift knob - in burl walnut/charcoal. It looks classy, feels great, and complements the rest of the interior very nicely -- IMHO.
Sorry no interior photos yet; it's a rainy day here in Florida. I'll try to take a few snaps later in the week and will post them promptly.

2006 SL 500
Great Choice

I got the Trim package on my 2006 SL500 and I'm so glad I did. The wood steering wheel feels so good in your hands and the leather on the steering wheels and the gear shifter adds the touch of class that the vinyl options lack.

It is a nice compliment to the car. What did the package run you? I know that wheel is expensive, the shift knob couldn't have been more than $200-300?

The total installed price was $932. The reason for the relatively low price is because I negotiated the purchase of my SL500 to include an employee discount on parts & accessories for the first month of ownership.

Hi Kirby,
I don't know if the dealer would have gone longer or not, and I had to work a bit to get them to agree to the idea itself since they were already taking a huge discount off the MSRP for the SL. Also, I already knew the parts & accessories I wanted to buy before I pursued the deal.

I purchased this one from CEC - it does really add some refinement to the interior - this particular one is fatter than the stock wheel and has the extra thickness at 10 & 2 sorta like the AMG wheel.

JoeC,
That CEC wheel looks great and also looks to be a perfect fit. Did you install it yourself?

Thanks...no I didn't install it. CEC installed it as well as the wheels/tires, deck lid spoiler & smoked tail lights.

It appears CEC has their SL wheels on clearance, $499. Is that CEC wheel leather on the sides or ? Did the wood match up pretty good to the factory wood? Check out CEC's website and the clearance section, they have alot of AMG goodies.
