Question on Market of SL's and any leads appreciated
I am thinking of surprising my other half with a used 2003 sl or a 2002 911 cab. It really comes down to what I can get the best deal on. I have found some 2003 sl's with around 20k for low 50's and I am sure I could get for 50k. There is one guy in the classified selling his 2003 in Mars Red but its way overpriced and its a very base car. I want to get it closer to Xmas so if I wait another month maybe I can find a nice example in the high 40's. It must be a very clean car with no stories and under 30k in miles. Thanks in advance

2003 SL500
My wife would not appreciate the 911, but she would love the SL. I think you might be wasting performance and giving up creature comforts with the 911. But take a look on eBay. There are a lot of 2003 SL500s in the high 40 low 50 range. I have been very happy with mine other than the power or lack of.

i had the 03 sl500 then got a 03 sl55. sold the sl500. too slow. wife wouldn't drive the 500 after using the 55. better get a 55 or she will be using your car.

Thanks for the feedback. I just ran some lease numbers on a boxster. At 500 over invoice on a 2007 Boxster,no money down,12k per year,24 months $475 tax included. I know the SL is her preference but the warranty factor worries me. Anyone want to sell thier low mile SL?

Duane: I have an 04 SL600 with about 5200 miles on it. Silver with Grey leather. Keyless Go, Distronic, Power Trunk, etc. Only driven on nice days. One of 6 cars that I own and this one is not being driven much anymore so I might let it go. I am in the Daytona Beach area. Perfect car! Any interest?

Sounds very nice my guess is you are going to be asking high 60's to low 70's which is more then I want to spend on this! I will keep my eyes open if I know anyone.

I have a really nice 03 SL 500 in 040, with sport, several good options, and warranty valid til 5/07. Miles are mid 40's, has been through our local Benz dealer in the last month, Clean Carfax, etc. Don't want to break the forum rules, as I do have a license in my state. PM me if you like and I'll pass on the info. FYI, there is LOTS of variablity in 03 SL's. You just can't buy the rough ones cheap enough--generally they are lousy colors with 60's miles and no options. The better colors--black, silver, white--with Sport and warranty remaining are doing as much as 4-6k more at the auctions. Hope this helps.
