ECU tune 600 Euroelites?

Does anyone have any experience with the ECU/TCU tune from euroelites for the V12TT (sl600)?
I know there surfaced some negative remarks about ee in regards to the 5.5 kompressor ECU/TCU tune, and I read through the thread and kind of wondered why people do not get together and find common ground before everything escalates and everybody gets emotional.

Anyway, I do not want to get into it. My understanding is that the engine and transmission in the 600 series is more robust than the 5.5 kompressor/7-speed transmission and thus has a higher safety margin and is less likely to blow up.

It appears also that Oliver did the mapping/programs for the Renntech in the past, with a lot of happy customers, and now writes it for Euroelite. Is that correct?

If so, is the EE tune pretty much the same as Renntech?

Anyway, any feedback about the V12TT tune would be appreciated!
Thanks

I would contact them an ask for customer references.

I am sure they are interested in pleasing.

I am not sure if they would give me contacts of those who are unhappy or where things went wrong. Thus the approach through the forum. May be there are none who are unhappy.....We will see.
BTW, does anyone has a before and after dyno?

Just pull out the ECU and TCU and send them to RENNtech. I did and I am very happy. Oh yes, call them ahead of time to let them know you are sending them.

Car is in Storage for a couple month in the winter, I pulled ECU and TCU and I am ready to send them. But....$ 2500 versus $6500. And the way it sounds a german guy named Oliver wrote the mapping for Renntech (at least in the past) as well as for Eurolites. So where is the difference...????

In that thread the problems were with BOTH the 55 and 65. The 65 had a TOASTED transmission from the TCU update. Might want to re-read the thread.

I was willing to pay up for peace of mind. It is up to you to decide how much you are willing to pay for peace of mind. I have been a member of this forum for a long time and virtually everyone here who has gone with the RENNtech upgrade is satisfied with the work and enthusiastic about the results.

I hear you! However, this was the first and only time anything was reported on a V12 tranny, at least I could not find anything. I am trying to give EE the benefit of the doubt here.
Most of the few guys who had issues were with e55s or sl55s. The way I understand it is that the tuning is more agressive on the V8s since the V12s have more power reserves....

Actually I believe in that thread there was another that had tranny problems after a TCU tune. The 55s usually only get an ECU tune...the V12BI-Turbos can get both ECU and TCU tunes.

Hello Paisano! Just checked out your site, happy to see 550 opportunities, would it be possible to post bef/aft dyno on an sl550 car? I didnt realize 35hp could be squeezed out of it.
Also are there any dealers in the neast, Hartford CN for instance.

Here I had asked for customer impressions but no answer unfortunately- I dont know if thats good or bad!

Oh, also can you explain what will happen to my sl with a revised TCU?

Lastly, you mentioned flashability on your site, Is this possible on my car or must I send the microprocessors out to you?

(pls dont say "call me"!)

I know a friend that has sl65 amg, w/both ECU/TCU & it is constantly in the shop being repaired/undrivable, leave the TCU alone I've heard umpteen stories on/off forums about TCU bombing & less rwhp/rwto gains than promised etc... Powerchip ECU looks the best to me (Notice Powerchip dosen't even offer TCU tune for 600/65 TT)

Seems to me the experienced tuners out there should be able to replicate the code of the AMG Speedshift, thereby staying within the specs of MB. I am satisfied with my RENNtech ECU/TCU upgrade. I will let you know if that changes.

Ciao!! We are currently flashing cars through '06. '07 and on, we have to do on the bench. It's very easy to remove the ECU, and we have a 2-3 day turn around time.

With the TCU upgrade, the car will shift quicker and hold gear longer. We also give you few hundred more RPM before shifting as well. But most of all, we keep the transmission safe.

I hope that helps...Since it took me so long to get back with you, I'll PM you as well......

If I were you, I would go with Powerchip. Their tune is also $2,500.
