Speedtuning USA ECU/TCU upgrade for the SL600
Has anyone had any experience here with the ECU/TCU upgrade for the V12 Biturbo engine?
Oliver quoted me $699 and this, what do you guys think?
"Sure we have a strong setting for your SL600 04. Our St2 Power Chip will
give you up to plus 50 to 100HP depending on your local fuel plus
speedlimiter taken off. The TCU Power Chip will give you a raised
revlimiter
and raised torquelimiter plus a faster shift algorithm. ECU and TCU
Power
Chip together would cost you US$ 699.00."
"93 Octane would get you up to plus 80HP and 100Nm torque."

Besides MUCH lower gains than the big tuning shops..

Your doing what I've done in the past (economy shopping mods) DON'T do it, I've only heard bad things from speed tuning...Buyer beware....go with Kleemann/VRP/LET there's a reason the others are much more expensive trust me..

I totally agree that in general you get what you pay for...but I'd also argue that in some cases you don't and the better product can be cheaper. Of course, I have no clue in this case, but the link that's provided above actually seems to just fall off the planet with no proof there was ever really a problem (even when Dino stepped up to help solve it). Are there other threads with poor SpeedTuning issues? (btw, I happened to have Kleemann and love it!)

Wow thats a great price for a V12 TT tune, almost to good to be true. Does that vendor post on this board or does anyone else have his tune on a V12 TT?

"You get what you pay for" is always a good saying to go by. We have some great performance for the 600tt cars, but it will cost a bit more, but we are a value when compared to some of the bigger players.
Let me know if I can help......

Although I sent my stuff to Kleemann for their tune, it would be nice for the people who actually did the SpeedtuningUSA ECU upgrade to tell us some stories..
not just a generic answer "you pay for what you get" or "oliver works in a trailer so he must be bad"...

CL600 - Speedtuning USA
I have a '04 CL600. Love the car and I drive it fast. I live in Annapolis MD. I wanted more get up and go and somehow couldn't convince myself that Renntech's $6,000 price was the answer. I went and saw Oliver at Speedtuning. I would say his location is "rustic" at best. lololo He first took out my TCU and checked to see if he had software to tune it. He did not but said he would probably be able to get a version soon. It is quite the effort and detail work when dealing with the TCU. He put that back unchanged and then tuned my ECU by way of the data port right under the steering wheel. He hooked his laptop up to the car and in about 10 minutes it was done. He then ran a complete diagnostic on the car. It came back clean since I have my car serviced fairly oftened (PM stuff). I opted for the 90+ hp gain set-up. I need to get the car dyno but I can tell you that when I left and hit the gas, the car spun like it never has before. And on the way back to work on 95-N to Baltimore, jumping from 75 to 105+ was no strain. So, based on the seat of the pants dyno, big gain. And Oliver was very knowledgeable and fair. And the price? $500. It was going to be something like $600 - $650 with the TCU included but since he didn't have that available, the lower price. So what I can say is that so far, the Speedtuningusa experience has been good for me.

CL600 SpeedtuningUSA - Dyno Check
There is a dyno shop not too far from where I work. I will head over there in the next week or two to get the car checked out. I will post the results. Day two of the upgrade and I am driving way too fast. lolol Hopefully Oliver can get the TCU upgrade for me. I am also thinking about taking the resonators out. Anybody done that? I am hoping if I do, a few more HP but more importantly, nicer sound.
