2005 SL500 upgrade AMG LED Tail Lights Questions.
I know this has been asked a lot of times. and i've searched thur the fourm.
I have a 2005 SL500 is planning to upgrade my tail lights to the 2007 Clear Tail lights or AMG LED tail lights.
As far as the LED tail Lights most user said it fix well with no problem, I heard there might be electric problem? or the on board computer might detech something wrong and give a message?
Can anyone share with me on this? I don't want to pay $750-$800 + install then something is not right.

They're plug and play, no worries. I just upgraded my SL600 to the SL65 AMG tails. Do you have the .pdf instructions? It's a bit of a pain in the *** to install them. You have to break down inside of your trunk.

I am upgrading my bumber to a 07 AMG style + my tail lights (need to know before i buy the tails) body shop would do it for me. that's why i need more feedbacks / or issues on the lights fitments and computer issues (if there is any)

All R230 models since day one, be it 03SL500, 600 or SL55 onwards, have LED rear lights. They just have different looks due to the different design of the plastic lens cover.

i did the first 07 AMG tail swap and third brake light on my 06 SL back in the day.

I'm not so sure they are all the same. I had the Led's put in an 05 and there were no issues. If you do have a problem it is likely that the computer has a setting for Led instasd of bulb so you dont get "bulb out errors". My stock 05 tails were not LED but were bulbs. When I changed the tails in the 07 ML63 to LED's the error message came on and the computer change didn't solve it. I gather that there is a module that had to be updated.

even 03 tails are LED. The newer ones just are brighter, mor lights,more clear lense, but still LED, plug and play. just put 07 Sl550 tails in my 03(02production date) sl500.

MY LED BULBS KEEP GOING OUT IN MY TAIL LIGHTS OF SL55 ... WHY WOULD THAT HAPPEN ... i HAVE 03 BUT UPGRADE TO THESE PART NUMBERS
