I really like how the build turned out, but its not a SL63 AMG.... Just either keep it de-badge or keep the original SL550, otherwise your just gonna posing, no reason to call it a fake on such a nice build like this
But still car turned out great

You can get them for about $12 from the dealer. Ask for the plugs for a 2011 SL 550 and you'll also need a few pins.

I own a SL63 and I must say, what you did here looks fantastic. I previously had 3 R129's as well as a 2005 R230 before my 2009. I get FAR more looks with this body style update than I ever did with the others----and I thought those looked good! I say do what you want. IMHO, the badging doesn't bother me, but it would look bad ( in a good way!) without the rear badges. Oh, I was concentrating so much on the car's paint and LED's ( love those) that I didn't notice for the windows were tinted. If not, DO IT! Good job!

REALLY GREAT write up...And I who thought I did good ones...I love those DRLs. Wish they where an option when I did mine..Here is that one remeber? :
https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...5-project.html
So info on prices and makers is Always good to share since fitment and finnish where really bad on my Prior Design hood. The rest on mine where OEM parts except the rear diffuser that also fited super badly.

Anyhow, I'm surprised prior design had bad fitment, for the cost of their products I would expect nothing less than oem fitment!
I'm super surprised you didn't add paddle shifters especially since your car has the capability! I know you may not use them much but they sure do complete the look!

Hood, fenders, side skirts, front & rear bumper with diffuser (fitment 97 %) are around $4k from Sarona.com in Queens, NY. Add $1k to upgrade to 2014 style SL63 AMG bumper. Deck lid spoiler from JB Speed (perfect fitment). Everything else is oem.

2016 GLE 450 AMG Coupe, 2008 CL 550
Exactly right! I like my vehicles to look stock so I was actually going with either the SL63 wheels or the star shape that goes on the CL & ML when I stumbled on these and they were a must have! There was a different wheel on eBay that I contacted the guy about and then he sent me a pic of those and that was that! Lol I'll pm his number...
& thanks for the compliment.

The car turned out beautiful in the pictures you posted. All the work paid off in a nice ride ! I'm looking for those wheels for my '05. I just can't seem to find that exact one. can you PM me that number, and the wheel model.

Its good to see the progress on the car. We both were bidding on this same car a while back, I bid too low. I like the kit, especially the LED driving lights. I finally bought one out of TX, which yours came from Cali. Similar damage, and I too am a builder and have the same passion. With that being said.....can you provide me with the place you bought your kit? I too have 245/30/20 and 295/25/20 Hankook with 20x9, 20x11 Savini Forged with a 2.5" lip front, 5" lip rear. I will post pics as soon as they finish building my wheels.

These are the wheels color matched 20x11 in the rear with 6" lip 20x9 front, I have the kit that I bought from eBay Lavini for $5400.00, $1500.00 for headlights and $970.00 for the rear tail lights and waiting patiently for it to arrive before I start taking it apart and dry fit the front end. I went with the wide body kit, so the other mods that are beyond my experience will come from JC Customs here in Calif. I will keep the factory paint and hopefully the wheels will fill out the rear fenders

Wheels etc
Sooo...
Here is my attempt at a photo shoot; and now I know why folks hire professionals. Anyhow, I didn't want to post pics prior to debadging and installing the lowering links & big brake kit but since the next snow storm was just hours away and I didn't wanna keep you folks waiting anymore... Here is the best I could do.
More pics to follow and the interior is next! Enjoy...
And now we're home and barely caught the beginning of another few inches. Ugh...
Hope you enjoyed... )

i have 20”. 245-35-20 on front and 265-35-20 on back i feel like if i get 1 step bigger the arches will catch when lowering and the tyres may also hit the suspension arm on the fronts thanks,

According to tirerack,
you should be able to fit 295/25/20 in the rear. They recommend 255/30/20 up front.

the problem is i have taken over a car that has had ao much done to it and now its jusy correcting all the bad stuff i currently have 20” 245-35-20 front and 265-35-20 at back and as you can see with my suspension on the lowest setting the wheels are well in the arches, yeah i can raise the car but i just worry that if it drops etc it will damage the arches

Keep in mind, that you current rear tires have significantly larger diameter than 305/25/20. By 32.5 mm to be exact (standard for our cars is 661 mm total wheel + tire diameter). You speedometer is also showing speed that is about 5% below actual. Your fronts are also bigger than needed, but by smaller margin, just 18.5 mm. I am planning on using 295/25/20 rear and either 255/30/20 or 245/30/20 front. 305 would be a better fit, but I got a couple of great used 295th, which are very close to nominal (slightly smaller).
