SL/R230: Which scan tool is best for 2003 SL
I wrote that I would assist someone in putting a system together. The multiplexer and cables would be sourced from aliexpress.com, a Dell D630 from eBay, and I can provide software for free as explained in post #129.

I am still unable to use Xentry as it prompts for an activation code. There are some keygen utilities included on the hard drive, but not sure how to use. Can anyone here help me with that? I assume these cloned/knockoff installs are all pretty similar.
Locate a program called Star Utilities that has a shortcut placed on the Windows Desktop. Launch the program and hopefully have a screen which looks like the attached screenshot. Click on the button at the top labeled StartKeyCenter and you will have a large pop-up window appear in the center of your screen.
There are two pieces of information provided which you will input to your key generator: Hardware I.D. and App ID. If you get to this point the next step will be to use Windows Explorer to view the Keygen files you have.and then either post a screenshot or list their names in a reply.

you deleted the links from post #89
same links as you mentionned before here and you can not delete as it is locked
https://mbworld.org/forums/sl-class-...stem-c4-3.html
and selling here in post #29
you are just a troublemaker and try to get other people in trouble with you
sad for a 55 year old adult
I see that you have altered your forum signature block to remove links to where you are selling your SDS services. Note that the forum administrators have access to historical information and can see what was once there.
I see you have accused me of advertising on the forum. If you read the link in my signature, there is NOTHING there for sale. It is simply a short version of my biography, and a call for members to post their questions in the open forum so that all get the benefit of the discussion, as opposed to handling things in PM. I did this for two reasons. One is because of the large amount of PM that I receive, I can't always reply quickly, and I know many people are in a hard spot and need help ASAP. The other is because I don;t always know the answer, and sometimes I think I know the answer and I am wrong. Posting in the open forum is the best way to get the "best" answers.
You have mentioned that I also "advertise" in my signature block. Yes, I do have a link in my signature block that is on my company website, Benzbits. If you go poking around on other pages on that site, you may discover that Benzbits is a part of a for-profit business. It is a business unit of one of a company that I own and operate, called Integrice, LLC. I used to be solely self-employed and Integrice is the legal, registered, licensed, tax-paying business under which I did that work, which included, among many other things, some MBZ technical assistance. Earlier this year, I took a full-time job as an employee of a competitor (in the software industry, not automotive), but I part of my agreement is that I can continue the consulting and technical work I did that does not conflict with my employer's business. Since my employer is a software company in a particular vertical market in the legal services industry, I am free to work in other markets, including the MBZ technical assistance I provide under Benzbits.
Now, having said all that, I have had several (maybe around 8-10) forum members contact me for help through my Benzbits business and come to see me here in Alabama. In all cases - even one who had recently joined and never even posted - I NEVER charged anything for my services. In fact, I often get emails from people who find Benzbits and, just as I do here in the forums, I answer their questions to the best of my abilities and never charge a fee or even suggest that I should. I don't solicit here and I don't suggest that my knowledge is better than others. I am just here because I am passionate about MBZ vehicles and I enjoy "talking shop" with others having the same interests. I also enjoy seeing people learn about their cars and finding ways to keep them performing without having to pay mechanics for their knowledge when that is not necessary.
Now, if you are truly here to contribute and help others under the terms and rules of the forum, then welcome! Asking people to PM you and then asking them to pay is in violation of these terms and honestly, I find it just plain rude, much like a robocaller or bait-and-switch ad. So, you decide: Are you going to hang around here to be helpful, or are you going to use this forum as you advertising billboard? If its the latter, then I can promise you that you WILL be reported.
Locate a program called Star Utilities that has a shortcut placed on the Windows Desktop. Launch the program and hopefully have a screen which looks like the attached screenshot. Click on the button at the top labeled StartKeyCenter and you will have a large pop-up window appear in the center of your screen.

Really appreciate the offer of help, Sir. Where do I go from here?
You need to determine which keygen is for XENTRY. You may be able to infer the correct one by finding one which asks for Hardware ID and App ID. If you can not, then post a screenshot of Windows Explorer displaying the different keygens available to you.
When a member is banned I do not know how long the ban lasts and whether or not they are allowed to return with a new identity. I will be looking for an answer to that question, and pending what I learn I may once again report you to the webmaster. Further, since "BenzNinja" is soliciting business for pmercury, his posts are probably a violation of MBWorld's terms of use.
One thing is certain: You will no longer conduct yourself in the manner you did before.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I glanced through those instructions, and apart from the the keygen stuff they look intimidating to me! Maybe the complexity is specific to the c. 2012 software version, or maybe it's because the author's software runs within a VMWare virtual machine. I hope no one looks at those instructions and is dissuaded from making a purchase.
To setup an SDS PC I simply clone a hard drive with the software onto a blank drive, install the drive in a Dell, and generate keys for XENTRY, DAS, WIS, and the EPC. That's it!
I confess to taking little digs at you on *******.com. In the context of the vile comments you made about me here on this thread, I don't feel any need to defend them, as by way of comparison they are innocuous. My language is also informed by you having once directed me to have **** intercourse with my mother in a now-deleted thread. That was disgusting and beneath the dignity of this forum.
Paul/pmercury/**********/************/**********, you are an enigma to me. It seems you have some programming ability. You may even be a gifted programmer, although I do find that if someone is unskilled at writing a spoken language like English or Dutch they are rubbish at writing a programming language.
At any rate, you surely aren't stupid. And that is why I am dumbfounded at your actions. How is it that fail to realize that your behavior is very unbecoming of you. I'll have you know that one of your past customers PMed me. He had payed you hundreds of dollars and was very pleased with you. But on this thread he saw an ugly side of you which he found appalling, and he will never give you his business again. I doubt he is the only one who you have caused to turn away.
I have no desire to give you helpful advice, so I will not endeavor to do so. But I will allow that you really are in dire need of some serious, deep introspection. I also think you have a great deal of growing up to do. Perhaps have someone whose opinion you revere read this thread and give their opinion of you.

I have no problem with people disagreeing over what parts, process, software, etc. is better. I would prefer that incorrect information be called out and better solutions be offered. Just because people seem to know what they are talking about does not mean that they are accurate. I myself have many times given incorrect information and advice and I am very glad that others caught and corrected it. This exchange and self-correcting environment is what makes the forum so valuable.
When someone comes to the forum and professes to have better parts, processes, or software, and but only offers it at a price, that is where I become extremely skeptical. When this person then becomes argumentative and belligerent, that's when I take action.
What's in it for him? He isn't getting paid. He'll get a thanks, and he's appreciative of that. But that probably isn't why he takes the time to contribute. No, doubtless he does it because we are all members of the Mercedes fraternity and helping each other is a large part of what the fraternity is all about.
Then you have Peter.
He boasts that he has devoted "tons" of hours assisting people. But he wouldn't lift a finger to help Robert Eccles with a problem he could have dispatched in fifteen minutes. Also, Peter neglects to mention how many tens of thousands of dollars he has earned off of MBWorld members. He is the only member on the forums that I know of who wants to be paid. His motives are mercenary, and his time come at a premium.
It seems to me he charges about $60/hr. Now, he will counter that he is a professional and must be paid. But Rodney too, is a professional, and he asks for nothing. And Peter, can't a fellow member of the fraternity at least get a discount? Sheesh.
Perhaps this is Peter's only source of income. That would justify him charging his rates. But in that case he needs to register with MBWorld and pay as a sponsor, else he is cheating this site which serves the fraternity so well.

It's ironic you make this claim about the Chinese. Windows Defender reports that your password generator contains a trojan. So do some of your other downloads. And it's not just me that noticed -- so did someone on the *******.com forum. See the attachment for the Windows Defender report.
Either through the Chinese or myself members can get terrific software. It's more or less the same SDS software which nearly everyone is joyfully using with no problems and is effortless to quickly get up and running. I can't imagine why anyone would choose to spend $400 on software which offers little additional material value. Remember, when it comes to diagnosing the most important system on Milazzo's R230 (ABC), you could not give a single example of how your software is superior. I doubt you could cite an example for the all-important Vario roof (RVC) control system, either.
As I indicated in post #26, in offering software I am acting as the resource of last resort for someone wanting to put together the Holy Grail of a C3 multiplexer, Dell laptop, and software pre-configured for the Dell at a minimal cost. That is the setup I have been recommending for the past three years, and lately I have not been able to identify a vendor for the software. I would request that prior to contacting me members make an effort to find the software from aliexpress.com, dhgate.com, or some other source.

Finally, I'll add that for that $30 I have to clone the software to a $20 drive purchased by the member, package the drive, go to my local post office, pay c. $8 in postage, and spend a half hour with the member installing the software keys once the drive is received. After expenses I have about $20 to compensate me for about 3 hours of my time. That is a pittance.

seems you picked 1 only negative post out of 346 downloads
I have been using this and tested it on https://virusdesk.kaspersky.com/

This has turned into a personal vendetta, a crusade for you, an attempt to discredit pmercury to a degree that it has become perthitic.
I don't care where he comes from, or where he lives, that is irrelevant for me. The only thing that counts, is that the product he deliver, works, and it does.
He ( pmercury) may have his own special way to handle things, but he has also done a lot of good to members of this forum, and he don't deserve to be treated like this.
Members who chose his service, like me, are free to do so, as well as chose service from others, it's a free market. .
Let's be clear. By "special" you mean nasty and abusive.

That is my private opinion as a member of this forum, nothing more, nothing less.
Some people tend to react strongly, when provoked, we are all different as human beings.
No further comments.
I open up a new thread, on the behalft of users in this forum, and they have their say.
Neither you or pmercury are allowed to comment or interfere in the discussions or statements made.
What about that ?
