SL/R230: r230 alarm disabling. Old Question w/ new twist
2) I have a tracker system installed
3) I don't give a damn about the alarm system EXCEPT that it seems to be a candidate for serious consumer battery drain.
Questions:
1) Can I simply disconnect (clip or unplug) the alarm wiring and totally disable the alarm system.
2) Will this have an adverse effect on other systems in the car?
3) Will I be able to use the remote to lock/unlock the doors?
1) Can I simply disconnect (clip or unplug) the alarm wiring and totally disable the alarm system. Yes!
2) Will this have an adverse effect on other systems in the car? No.
3) Will I be able to use the remote to lock/unlock the doors? Yes!
Many of us have just pulled the plug on the alarm. You will see an error if you scan the car but everything will work fine.

Your alarm siren should be a 7.5amp, it's #25 on the left front SAM.
