after purchase add blind spot assist
That's a long title but does anyone know if one can add oem blind spot assist to a 2013 with parking assist but no distronic already installed?
and would it be a major thing to do it.

Think new mirrors, modules, radar under the bumper, steering motors and coding...

actually you can buy the parts after market for not that much money, and you don't need to install new mirrors if you put the warning LEDs somewhere on the dash.
I guess I was wondering if anyone did it already.
My biggest question really is why there are still rear and side view mirrors at all when inexpensive cameras to do the job better have been available for ages.
thanks all for you input

Using OEM parts this would be a $5k endeavor... Frankly I can't imagine how the auto park in & out can be accomplished with non-MB parts

Not interested in autopark just interested in blind spot elimination.
After research appears that the best option would be a $45 device which does not connect to comand nor does it alter the car itself but gives information on the blind spots.
Still don't understand why there are still mirrors in cars any more.
