Crackles and pops stopped
My 2022 SL63 with 18K+ miles stopped its wonderful crackles and pops again. Out of the blue for the second time. The first time, it came back without any particular input on my part. I checked for thrown codes to clear, but there are none. I always drive in Race with all the maxed out dynamic settings except the Master setting.
Does anybody know what the secret sauce is to get my beloved engine exhaust sounds back?

As we discussed this in other thread, the same thing happened to my SL55. Sound was gone and it came back after a week later (still no idea what triggered it back) and then it disappeared completely. So I took it to MB dealership for the service, explained to them all the details. All they did was perform a software update on engine control unit. And YES, it came back to life with ALL the crackles and pops. It wouldn't hurt to bring it in to the shop for a day or two. Believe me, it's worth it knowing that I don't have to deal with agony and stress every time taking it for a spin.

Is there a way to turn off the crackles and pops? Personally can’t stand it and would feel like a 17 year old with a Mustang.

On the left lower area of the steering wheel, there is a knob. It has a button split in 2. 1 controls the spoiler, the other one controls the exhaust. Did you try adjusting the exhaust noise with that?
