SL65 in LA going for cheap

A fleet manager I am working with on a new SL let me know that he has a new 05 SL65 Black on Red which retails at over 191K for around 167K (or less, as time is running out). Seems like a decent deal....the guys name is Mark Matias at W.I. Simonson in Santa Monica. Tell him Cyrus sent you...

...........sorry, you are not going to get a positive response. If you think $167K is cheap, try $139K. LINK I think you probably know this already but your are hoping for a sucker. Wrong board. Most people here are pretty knowledgeable about MB's.

To be fair 167 isn't bad for a "new" Sl65. Sure the 139k one is a great deal but it does have 6k miles so obviously won't be priced the same as a new car.

..............pleae if you buy an SL65 for $167K in todays market, I have a swamp land in mars I will love to sell you. The $139K is actually high. Last month, there was one with less miles for $129K which did not sell.

Ted

You are talking about used car prices not NEW. Big difference. Find me a dealer that will sell a new SL65 for 139 or 129. You can't. Used its anyones guess what someone will sell for. Yes, you can get a deal on a new 65, but not anywhere near your dream numbers.

I am not the seller...just letting you guys know...this is a NEW car and will be a better lease if the buyer goes that route...Mark is the #2 seller in the U.S....he doesn't need to fake his identity to sell a car.

An 05 SL65 black on red (new) is not a common car...and someone may get a bargain...

cheers

For a new one? 167 is too high? Where?

Used, I agree but for a new 06 167 is really good. Non abused SL65's seem to be selling for 145 to 160 right now with low miles.

All the numbers at auction and on eBay are a bit of BS.

Find me a new 06 SL65 for under 167 and I will consider a second one.

Has anyone on this board bought one of the elusive 135K SL65's?

Just my .02

They'll sell it for less, unless someone walks in and is willing to pay the $167K.....

Ted

I saw that on EBAY for $129,999. Can that be real? Close to $70K drop in a year

I agree. I'll have another one at that price. The most powerful car in the world under 1 mil stock, and someone has decided to give it away. I never considered this an investment, but those prices seem like a bunch of crap.

Smile To "E55 AMG"

To E55 AMG,

I see your car has a K40 laser diffuser with an etched display in the mirror?

I think that's very cool and I would love to have the etched display on my next car. What mirror is it etched into? How did they do it? What are the advantages to having it like that? How much did the whole system cost? Do you have the whole K40 system package with radar jamming, laser diffuser, all built into your car?

Thanks for the info ....

Thanks

It is very cool, and it is etched into the stock mirror which makes it even cooler! The advantages are that it is a stealth install and integrated into your car so no one can tell. I have the V1 and the K40 jammer in the front. The whole system with install was about $3K. If you do a search on the E55 forum you will see some pics.

I was referring to the torque of a car with a reasonable amount of production. The list is very short when it comes to the torque and horsepower. By the way. Happy Holidays everyone..

Has anyone on this board bought one of the elusive 135K SL65's?

...........You are right. Cars are not investments. With few exceptions, they all depreciate. I bought an 05 G55 for $101K in may and 8 months later, you can get one for $85K. So, this applies accross the board. With that in mind, I MOST DEFINETELTY passed on an 05 SL65 for $142K in june this year. Car was brand new. I didn't buy it because I was hoping to get a CLS65, which I understand now will never be made. Everyone should enjoy their car and yes, they will all rapidly depreciate. People come to these forums (perharps unwisely) to gather information before making various car purchases. I think it is important for such a person to know that in todays market, an SL65 for 167K is by no means a good deal.
