Hello Gentlemen,

It is my understanding that the first service (when the oil is changed) for the SL55 is at 15K miles....

The question I have is if anybody thinks that the oil (or any other fluids) be changed prior to the 15K milles...

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well I dont have a 55, but a 500 and i think you're fine with the oil til 15k but i think they suggest taking the car in between 3-5k miles just for a check up or somthing of that sort to make sure everything is running properly and so forth.

If everyone responds you are going to get a wide variety of opinions.

I have the Oil changed at about 2,500 and again every 5,000 miles.

I have 2 oil changes done before it's time for the cars 1st Service.

As I understand I am scheduled for 10,000 or 1 year whatever comes first, per information given to me by my service advisor. I think this is Mercedes recommendation for 06 cars atleast.

Its every 10K.
I show at about 7500.
Mobil 1. Synthetic always.

Hm, change every 7000 miles instead of 10,000 miles. I think that its better.

I found this on the MB website, but it said specifically for 2005 vehicles:

"Your dealer provides a Service Welcome that includes a first visit (between 1,000 and 3,000 miles) and your first tire rotation (before 6,500 miles) at no charge".

Does anyone know if this applies to all new Benz's?
