360 spider or gallardo spyder?

so, i got this bug for one of these cars.

the 360s are 2003s with about 5k miles. the gallardo is a 2006 with about 200 miles.

all three have the automatic transmission feature, and i think are loaded. actually, one of the ferraris lacks some SPORT switch, which i'm fairly sure i won't miss.

the ferraris are about 175k; the lambo is about 250k.

what are your thoughts?

White Lambo is freaking HOT!!!!
My choice is the lambo..more exclusive.. more reliable Audi v10 engine, maybe more practical for driving 2-3x a week vs. 360, maybe others can chime in and provide personal experiences.

djamer...

strangely, the gallardo might actually be more practical than the 360. i believe there are only two white 2006s anywhere within 1000 miles of here. i posted one; the other, with black interior, is in boca, where the owner drives it DAILY and says it's the most fun he's had in a long time.

i've been hearing that ferrari drivers typically log about 200 miles monthly on their cars. does that sound right?

you're driving an infiniti G35? please let me know your thoughts about it because one of the young ladies in our office wants the coupe, and i'm trying to arrange it for her.

if anybody knows recent sales histories for the 360 and gallardo, please let me know whether the numbers seem reasonable. thanks!

david, I bought my 06' G35 (all options) last coupe last month..blast to drive. I negogiated $150.00 over factory invoice, which in turn was around $5500 off MSRP. The car drives beautifully but it's very aggressive with 19' sports suspension option. drop me a line for more specifics and I'd be happy to share my thoughts.

I have seen the Lambos in DC, and northern va, and speaking to several sources, they do say lambo are actually practical cars. Shocking to hear such an exotic car can be driven each day.

local prices in northern va/dc area

2004 - lambo 11K miles - 139,000 (silver)
2005 - lambo 4K miles - 175,000 (yellow)

not sure about 360 prices, but I think you may find good deals especially since the 430 is out and it's the hot car right now.

I would get the gallardo because the 360 is the old model. You should be comparing the G and the 430. If you look hard enough 01-02 low mile 360 spiders can be had for 150k-160k with no stories. A G you will be paying 50k over at this point and the 430 even more. Roy at Cats Exotics is one of the biggest lambo movers around and knows about most cars in the US for sale. blahzayblah ... I LOVE your picture.. who are those women?

haha.. And I'd actually go w/ the 360 merely because it is more car for your buck... The Gallardo is guaranteed to drop in value once the Spyder's become more prevalant.. And I guarantee that's happening soon. 360's in general always hold their value.. On top of that, if you've ever seen the Gallardo or 360 in person, the Gallardo spyder just looks funny, Lambo's usually have dated designs whereas ferrari's are just classicly beautiful. The only spyder lambo makes that looks good is the Murcielago, which is one 230K piece of ****. Oh, and if you want a nicer interior along with better reliability -- the Ferrari's the way to go. I wouldn't pay more than $160K for a 360 spyder though in the 2002 range..

you must know the only true motivation for considering the 360s and the G is upping the ante in negotiations between us on the trade we corresponded about previously. ball's in your court now! {:-] oh, and where are you and your ladies located?

Being a fan of both, yet slightly biased towards the Lamborghini, I would select the Gallardo. It is faster than a 360 Spider, sports Lamborghini's latest technology, and is less of hassle in maintenence than Ferrari. The Gallardo is capable of being a daily driver, the Ferrari is not. Having seen several of them in person and examined both cars, it is more angular than the 360 and features standard operational doors, a first for Lamborghini in a WHILE. Plus, lets not ignore the 120 hp advantage and increased torque of the V10. It is a better overall automobile, yet a livable one all the same.

what do i do? well, i'm technically unemployed, and yet i'm the busiest person most people know. go figure...

my GF is pretty much a full-time occupation. but with my spare time, i manage a bit of tech development.

FYI, i was wrong about the number of white G-spyders. purportedly, the first one was purchased by a rocker guitarist and kept here in S FL. the second by a boca guy. the third, perhaps by me.

i've seen several of each in person. i'm driving the silver 360 and the G tomorrow morning.

i feel similarly about the classic beauty of the ferrari; it looks like an adult's car. the gallardo looks more like a kid's car.

i've never had either and i'm bound to decide more emotionally that practically. if the 360 is more headache, then i'd lean toward the G. if there's only one thing i cannot abide, it's needless hassle.

The 360's middle name is "hassle" IMO -- whether it is needless, or can be put up with, is up to the owner.

I don't own a 360 - and wouldn't. The F430 would be the version of that model to own.

Drive 'em both - it is going to be your car, and it's your money.

I will soon be taking delivery of both a Gallardo coupe and a Spyder. I will have to get into the cars and do some amount of driving to see how much I like the new Gallardo.

The Pearl White was my color choice for the Spyder.
