INFO: Which Brembo Kits fit the R230 SL55?

Hey guys,
Lately there is a lot of talk on the forums about Brembo kits, what fits each specific model, how much it costs, etc.

As your top source for Brembo, we wanted to post up the kits that fit your car, and give you guys some links to our website, so that you can see what your options are...

The only kit that fits your SL55 Is:

380mm 8 Piston Front

These kits are all optimized and designed by Brembo Engineers to decrease unsprung weight, reduce brake fade, and decrease stopping distance by 20-30 Percent when used with the proper tires. These braking systems are perfect for use on and off the track!

For more information:

-Visit www.JleviSW.com by clicking the links above

-Email sales@jlevisw.com
-Send an IM to "Jlevi SW" or "Nick at JSW"

Thanks for reading!

Would that 8-piston kit work for an SL65 application as well?

BiTurboAMG - You Bet!

JamE55 - Brembo only designs a kit if they can improve braking 20-30%. Since they already make the stock brakes for the SL65, they offer no improvement package

I thought that the SL55 had an 8 piston caliper set up from Brembo......as the stock set up.

I am pretty sure that my sticker says 8 piston front and 4 piston rear calipers, and they look identical to the Lambo Gallardo which are from Brembo.

Hi Steve,

From the SL65 brochure off http://www.mercedes-amg.com/:

We also drew on all our motorsport experience when designing the AMG high-performance brakes, the aim being to ensure optimum braking
effect at all times, even under high thermal loads. This is why the front wheels feature 8-piston fixed callipers with composite brake discs measuring 390 x 36 mm. An aluminium bowl makes each disc approx. 20 percent lighter than a similarly sized standard disc made from cast iron.

The discs are joined to the brake disc bowls by means of special connecting elements and are axially and radially mounted in floating bearings. This means they can expand without distorting when subjected to high thermal loads. As a result, brake judder is largely eliminated, brake pad wear is reduced and exemplary deceleration rates are achieved. The rear wheels are equipped with 4-piston fixed callipers in conjunction with composite brake discs measuring 360x26 mm.In other words, we have done all we can to ensure that the SL65AMG stops as quickly as possible and when you want it to.

E55 AMG is an 8 Piston 380mm priced at $4295 Retail - Just like all other 8 Piston 380mm kits

Hummer H2 is the new Large 6 Piston 380mm priced at $4395, just like all the other large 6 pistons..

I held one of these yesterday - the caliper is over 1.5 feet tall!

We offer 10% off those prices
