I think the stock rim now is a 5 star. Looks like the CLS55 wheel.

I joined yesterday and thought I'd share a picture of my '03 SL 55, no mods, black on black, all I want to do is put some SL 65 wheels on it. Feel free to voice your thoughts....

Good choice to change the wheels, 65 wheels looks good! Take a lowering module as well!

Thanks for the reply, I LOVE those rims. I thought they were the Brabus ones but in the context of the post AMG55 said s/he liked the SL 65 rims and then said look at my pic; made me think they were 65s. I like the 65 rims, but the Brabus ones are something else. The Brabus rims on the W221 look AMAZING too

Just a quick question. When you get the SL55 AMG with package 030 (AMG performance package) are they the same rims as the SL65? Also, with that package, if anyone has it, is the Nurburgring Calibration impressive?

The wheels are the same but the SL65 has a dark graphite center color and the SL55 030 has all same bright color Check out mine at

Thanks for the link I was wondering about that. Your SL and your estate are amazing, tastefully done indeed (it must take a family of immigrant workers to keep that lawn looking beautiful). With the 030 package is there any different in performance (engine wise) or is it all handling?
P.S. What color Westminster do you have, Java Black or Bonatti Grey?
P.P.S. If I do summer research in Cleveland (which I am planning on doing), can I stay at your house, I promise to wash the SL and take it for an air dry

I'm 25 and I own a seven figure house in California, a twin engine plane, 3 cars, and will soon buy a 06 SL55. I could go on, but I think this should suffice.
I suppose I could sell the plane and buy cars that would make AMG Girl's SL55 look like the Barbie Corvette. My monthly aircraft insurance permium could probably pay the financing on at least 2-3 of her cars.
I visit this forum almost daily due to my future purchase of a 06 SL55.
Do you have any choice words for me?
(Btw, I earned everything on my own, not that it could change what you think of successful 25yr olds)

I don't know about that; I've got a '73 280SE on the way across the country with the nicest wood dash, window-frames, etc. of anything around. And my E55's grey wood with the little chrome lip is really a class act. MB's wood is no worse than its competitors - see any of the bangle bimmers' interiors lately? awful!

2006 SL55 AMG
I just got my SL55 this past Wednesday. I haven't had a chance to take decent pictures, so here are a couple shots from the dealer. I love it so far. I do want to change the wheels and probably the aluminum trim, but all in all, I am so far very glad I went for this car over over the SL550.
