Anyone having this issue?
The black glass on the sides of the rear window seems to be having its clear coat coming off. Has anyone else had that? Do you think its covered under warranty?

I have...
had them replaced under warranty and had them denied under warranty. Depends on your dealer's attitude. Known issue.

Yes, I had the same problem on my 03 Sl500. The dealer wanted $500.00 to replace and install. I got some black gloss vynal strips and put them over the existing after sanding them smooth and it looks great. Whole project cost me about $10.00 and looks better then new.

Yes, I had the same problem on my 03 Sl500 and I got high gloss vynal and put it over the pillars. They came out better then new and the whole project cost about $10.00. Dealer wanted $500.00 to replace and install. Just heat it with a hairdryer for a perfectly smooth finish. Been over a year now and still looks brand new.

If so, here is a DIY for you. https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...ement-diy.html
The trim is just plastic.

That was my issue. Strangely enough I put my top down this past weekend and snapped one of them in half

Between that cranking off and a tire shop destroying one of my HRE center caps my car is slowly looking like a hunk of crap.
