Is LSD shudder normal?
I've had 3 SL55's. 2 with LSD and one without and both cars with had the same issue.
At slow speed and under acceleration the rear end shudders to the point that passengers will notice. Does everyone with LSD experience this?

Sl65 Shudder... I have definitely noticed it!
My SL65 has the factory LSD. Yes I have noticed a shudder and mentioned it repeatedly to the MB dealer... They tried to fix the problem and installed new Motor and trans mounts but the shudder is still there...

Shudder
I think what you are experiencing wheel hop. Due to the torque/power, the rear wheels fight for traction and repeatedly engage/disengage traction in the process. Feels like a shudder.
My 600 has a touch of it in cold temps since adding a Quaife, much less wheel hop on warm days though.

does it do it when you are turning? It sounds like you have a posi rear end and both tires are trying to turn at the same time all the time.
Check the air pressure and if it still does it I would guess thats just the way MBs lsds work.
You can try throwing a quiafe unit in there to see if its better

I had the same problem after adding all the hp to the car. When I accelerated the rear would shudder. The torque would throw each wheel out causing them to fight eachother. There was really no good adjustment to correct the toe out under heavy acceleration. I purchased the Evosport toe links for my car and installed them. They replace the rear lower control arm yet are fully adjustable. Brought the car to MB, they did an alignment and the shudder is gone. They were able to bring the toe in on both wheels, they are a ball and socket design, not rubber mounts. The ride is not compromised in any way. Worth every penny, as you will see they are a little pricey but they are built well, and a fix I really needed. I did not enjoy my car without them.
That's my story, hope you have the same experience!!! Good Luck!!

what you have is the car trying to put the power down with all the extra torque it has and its moving the power from one wheel to the other as the diff is trying to put the power down to the wheel with less force.

All I can tell you is that after my Quaife went in I was having the same shudder issue. I completed all my mods at one time and it was explained to me it was a combination of the extra HP and the LSD. I think you agree that they are not the best car to put the power to the ground. I installed the toe-links and the shudder is gone. Maybe I'm off point with my experience but they did remove the shudder. I see they are referring to slower speeds so looks like it may be a different issue. I see what your saying about moving the power from one wheel to the other.
